Job Summary
The Director, Recovery and Resolution Planning ensures the planning, development, coordination and completion of the assigned elements of RBC’s recovery and resolution planning initiatives (the “Plans” or “RRP”), including the senior executive and board-approved Plans themselves as well as related testing, work plan management, governance and integration of recovery and resolution principles within a largely de-centralized cross-enterprise operating framework. The opportunity is enterprise-wide in focus covering all segments, lines of business and material subsidiaries across global RBC from a recovery and resolution planning perspective to provide holistic views to senior management and global regulators on the impact to recovery and resolution strategies from strategic business initiatives, legal and organizational changes and regulatory developments.Job Description
What will you do?
Ensure planning, development, coordination and completion of the assigned elements of RBC’s recovery and resolution planning initiatives (the “Plans” or “RRP”), including the senior executive and board-approved Plans themselves as well as related testing, work plan management, governance and integration of recovery and resolution principles within a largely de-centralized cross-enterprise operating framework
Ensure high quality of the final Plans through the drafting of digital content and appropriate consideration of the Plans strategic implications to how RBC operates and prepares for financial crises
Enterprise-wide focus covering all segments, lines of business and material subsidiaries across global RBC from a recovery and resolution planning perspective
Critically review and assess segment and subsidiary level RRP and its alignment to RBC Group RRP (strategic, financial, legal, capital and liquidity planning)
Help to elevate RBC’s financial resilience planning capabilities, with a focus on efficient design, execution, implication analysis, and implementation
Provide holistic views to senior management on the impact to recovery and resolution strategies from strategic business initiatives, legal and organizational changes and regulatory developments
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
7-10 years of experience in banking businesses, Risk Management, Finance, Corporate Treasury Consulting or other related fields
Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills
Excellent writing, communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills
Knowledge of AI (e.g. Python), Tableau and creative/content-based (e.g. Adobe) tools or willingness to learn
Organized, self-starter, positive & collaborative mindset required to take initiative and drive results
Post-secondary education in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Law or a related field
Nice-to-have
Graduate degree in a relevant field
CA, CFA, FRM or professional designations
