Director, Regional Operations

General Summary

The Director, Regional Operations is responsible for strategic oversight of field operations to maximize customer experience as well as financial and operating results within assigned geographic region(s). The Director assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the Company to ensure efficient and safe operations. This position works with the Company’s network and customer care departments to provide an excellent customer experience while driving growth and performance across the business. This position develops, collaborates and leverages cross-functional relationships with other Rise Broadband departments, i.e., Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Human Resources as well as our external partners, local communities and government officials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Creates and promotes a team environment. Develops, directs and motivates a competent and cohesive management team through effectively communicating and coaching, establishing goals, delegating responsibility, providing resources and authority, monitoring activities, and ensuring accountability.Monitor team’s productivity; provides feedback and initiates corrective action as needed to maintain expected standards. Participates as needed in the resolution of escalated problems or issues, provides recommendations regarding potential corrective measures, and ensures problems are solved timely and in line with company policy. Provides strong and consistent safety leadership. Sets the example through personal actions and behavior. Ensures full compliance with all safety and security procedures. Implement initiatives and direct field operations including Fulfillment, Service, Outside Plant and Network Operations. Responsible for implementing and tracking quality improvements across the region.Responsible for implementing and adhering to best practice/standards identified within the organization to ensure signal quality throughout the distribution systems.Ensures customer satisfaction/retention is a priority. Solicits and applies customer feedback, fosters quality focus in team members. Partner with management team to create efficient business processes; evaluate all aspects of the field  operations environment; develop and implement processes to improve customer acquisition Works with upper management, team members, and cross-functional departments in the establishment of standard operating procedures, policies and practices; constantly strives to improve processes and services. Develops regional budgets and is responsible for the technical operations capital and operating budget process.  Monitors activity throughout the year to ensure capital and operating expenses are controlled according to meet or exceed the business plan.Responsible for working with internal teams, external partners and local communities and government officials to ensure we are communicating/collaborating effectively.Position requires weekend and/or evening work, and some travel may be required.Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred10+ years relevant experience in technology sector and internet industry preferredStrong management skills with demonstrated leadership experience; ability to set clear and specific direction, goals, objectives and expectations; advanced ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize performanceStrong working knowledge of Fiber networks including buildout and maintenance as well as an understanding of RF wireless technologies and products. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; effective at conveying ideas and direction, both verbally and in writingCoaches others to develop stronger change management skills and overcomes resistance to change  Strong safety leadership; places a high priority on safety, with a continual emphasis on driving and maintaining a strong safety culture. Must comply with Company and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) established safety policies and requirementsCustomer service oriented with passion for high customer satisfaction and achieving operational excellence; skilled in responding to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business communityProficiency in MS Suite and other job-required softwareSolid knowledge of networking and electronics theory; electrical codes and standards relative to residential or commercial communications cablingStrong working knowledge of RF wireless technologies and products; wireless planning, design and deployment processesSolid understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, and ability to calculate amounts, interpret and analyze financial statements Ability to define problems, prioritize work flow, multitask, meet deadlines, and remain flexibleMust have a valid driver license.  

Physical Demands and Working Environment

Physical demands: The position requires the incumbent to remain in the sitting position for prolonged hours. While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifteen (15) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.Work environment: Working conditions may include being in an open (shared) cubicle/workspace area.
