**Purpose of Role**
Based in Amsterdam at EMEA Headquarters, the **Director, Retail EMEA** is a critical member of the EMEA commercial team and is responsible and accountable for creating a regional retail strategy that is in alignment with our Global Strategy. They are expected to be a leader for the overall UA EMEA to drive revenue, protect brand and build culture (in addition to driving the Retail channel KPI’s and strategy).
In the role, they are responsible for balancing brand and business and bringing to life the brand creative vision within the channel through delivery of P&L ($200m in revenue in 2025) as well as responsibility for Retail Real Estate and New Store Openings (NSO) across the region. In addition, this individual will be responsible for fostering, leading, & driving effective cross functional relationships with local and regional teams to drive further success of our retail business. Consistent implementation of strategic initiatives and achievement of goals and objectives as defined by the five core accountabilities of Revenue Generation, Establishing the Stores Selling & Service Culture, Operational Excellence, Product & Visual Merchandising and Building a great team. Channel KPIs include, but are not limited to, revenue, traffic, conversion, AOV, margin, inventory levels, operational KPIs, NPS, etc.
The role heads up the Retail Management Team (Commercial Operations, Retail Operations, Real Estate and New Store Openings) and their reports (approx. 18 FTE) and a Retail workforce of 900 across EMEA.
The Director, Retail EMEA reports directly to the VP, Commercial - EMEA
**Your Impact**
+ Accountable for Financial performance and P&L of the EMEA Retail business, including leadership and development of the regional retail team across 115 countries, operating directly in 10 countries
+ Drive strategy into execution through direct line and dotted line POD members, focusing on achieving aligned targets and driving accountability
+ Communicate and align business strategies to core operational priorities
+ Development of Retail Channel Business Plan, including volume and sales forecasts, investment/budget definition of respective KPIs and tracking tools [traffic, conversion, AOV, operating efficiencies, etc.]
+ Establish strong relationships among cross-functional groups (local and global) to help gain shared vision and understanding of business needs to achieve overall EMEA goals
+ Establish critical partnerships with cross-functional business partners in field and corporate office to continuously create alignment on brand strategy, vision, customer needs, competitive positioning, market opportunities, and drive operational excellence in order to achieve high performance.
+ Lead the Go To Market process, partnering with Retail Merchant and Planning to ensure product and store allocations provides a cohesive strategy and brand experience, to drive sales revenue opportunities. Partner with Visual Merchandising to ensure achievement of visual merchandising standards
+ Partner across channel marketing and store design to ensure appropriate conversion level marketing collateral and store design effectiveness to build the brand and drive the business in alignment with financial goals and budget spends
+ Identify trends and opportunities to define changes in process and procedures that drive operations and selling agendas
+ Use of internal and external analysis to understand drivers and drags of business performance and align on action plans to enhance and drive business performance short, mid, & long term
+ Lead effective (weekly, monthly, & quarterly) business reviews to assess performance and health of business to align on KPI improvements and drive action plans needed
+ Work alongside Head of distributors to define ways of working and scalable forums to cascade Retail strategy and execution information to our partner markets, defining clear framework for success along with aligned on KPI’s
+ Lead & define clear process and accountability around NSO, from door location & accurate proforma assessment, to PMO oversight with GC’s, to store opening- working across functions to ensure clear alignment and ownership
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in retail, merchandising, marketing, or related discipline
+ At least 14+ years of experience in a similar role within a complex international environment & with deep experience in Retail across EMEA
+ Proven track record in overdelivering against ambitious targets with P&L ownership
+ Experience in leading O&O retail business, incl. retail operations, store development, NSO, PMO
+ Experience in navigating a Retail Distributor model
+ The successful candidate must be a dynamic leader, strategic thinker, and highly motivated. He or she must have a strong ability to communicate and build effective cross-functional relationships
+ Highly adaptable with ability to execute in the immediate while thinking strategically to plan the future
+ Strong personnel management and retail operations knowledge, including inventory control, loss prevention, retail systems, merchandising, customer service and store budget preparation. Proven experience in delivering results; strong 'retail math' knowledge and business acumen; thorough knowledge of retail KPIs (ADT, AUR, UPT, etc.), store P&L, schedule management, etc.
+ Exceptional leadership skills with ability to lead and develop teammates across the organization
+ Ability to anticipate opportunities and risks and develops effective responses and action plans oriented to business challenges
+ Visible ability to thrive in a growing, dynamic, high paced environment alongside multiple priorities and stakeholders
+ Proficiency in working in a matrix environment and building highly effective working relationships at all levels of the organization, influence behavior, and manage successful change
+ Comfort with navigating ambiguity and process maturity to drive improvements and execution
+ Proactively identifies and elevates issues in a timely manner; makes suggestions and recommendations for possible resolution
+ Strong financial, analytical, and organizational skills
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites
