As a Director of Labor and Business Intelligence Product Manager you will bring your deep knowledge of business needs to deliver solutions that collect, transform, analyze, and report data and help business stakeholders make data-based decisions. This role will lead labor planning efforts and oversee the UKG Dimensions payroll system and ensure effective labor forecasting, scheduling, and optimization strategies. In this role you will leverage a network of business stakeholders, subject matter experts, data and technology experts, and resources to help ensure the products you develop and manage drive value through actionable insights. 

Job Responsibilities:

Work closely with end users, subject matter experts, IT platform/data partners, other BI developers to build and automate BI solutions. Answering stakeholder’s business questions by dissecting their data, using measurement techniques, drafting KPIs, and building reports and dashboards.  Build and test functional prototypes for BI, data discovery, and analytics solutions. Gauge the business needs and work with your IT business partners to help determine the best technology solution that helps deliver on those needs. Run data and dashboard quality assurance throughout the design phase Lead and manage labor planning processes across all grocery store, liquor, and pharmacy locations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and operational needs. Oversee the UKG Dimensions payroll system, ensuring optimal functionality, compliance with labor laws, and integration with broader workforce management strategies. Supervise and develop a labor analyst, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional growth opportunities. Develop and implement labor forecasting, scheduling, and optimization strategies to improve workforce efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Analyze labor data and BI-driven insights to identify trends, provide actionable recommendations, and enhance productivity and operational performance through innovative visualization techniques. Build and test functional prototypes for BI, data discovery, and analytics solutions to enhance labor planning strategies and reporting. Define, track, and refine KPIs relevant to labor planning, creating reports and dashboards to answer stakeholder business questions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align labor planning with overall business strategies and objectives. Stay updated on industry trends and labor market dynamics to inform strategic decisions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, HR, and operations, to align labor strategies with organizational objectives. Lead change management initiatives for labor planning systems and processes, ensuring smooth transitions and stakeholder buy-in. Prepare and present labor performance metrics and BI-driven insights through interactive dashboards and reports, ensuring data-driven decision-making at all levels of leadership. Research and implement innovative labor planning solutions, such as automation and AI-driven forecasting, to future-proof workforce strategies. Serve as the primary liaison with UKG Dimensions representatives for system updates, troubleshooting, and optimization. Evaluate business needs to determine the most effective BI technology solutions to deliver actionable insights and align with organizational objectives. Provide expertise in BI data visualization tools, ensuring effective representation of workforce and labor analytics. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education/ Certifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Workforce Management, or a related field. Master’s degree or certification in Workforce Management or Data Analytics preferred.

Experience:

 7+ years of experience in grocery retail business intelligence support, including labor analytics, or related roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position. Strong business acumen and domain expertise in one or more retail functions including merchandising, operations, finance, ecommerce, and/or supply-chain. Developer knowledge of BI data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau)

Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex labor data and BI metrics to support operational and strategic goals. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders. Strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines and drive organizational impact. Strong developer-level expertise with BI data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms). Proven ability to translate business needs into effective BI solutions, including KPI development and dashboard automation. Experience in data discovery, quality assurance, and functional prototyping for analytics and reporting solutions. Ability to lead medium- to large-sized BI analysis and development projects (analyze, plan, do) Experience querying data from relational databases using SQL. Experience with data wrangling, data cleaning and prep, dimensionality reduction. Keen eye for details and aptitude for working with data Understanding of emerging business solutions, technologies, and delivery methodologies Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment. Self-starter, with a demonstrated ability to learn beyond formal training, with a strong aptitude for delivering quality products Proven track record of managing teams and driving operational efficiency through data-driven strategies.

Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
