Visa’s ERM team safeguards the company by maintaining global risk frameworks, running the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program, and partnering with every function to anticipate, assess, and manage risk. This role is not about creating new frameworks—it is about activating Visa’s existing ERM tools and standards inside Client Services, the global organization that supports Visa’s issuers, acquirers, merchants, and partners. You will be the catalyst for first-line adoption, turning policy into daily practice and shaping strategic decisions that affect the entire payment ecosystem.
Essential Functions
Serve as the second-line go-to risk partner for Client Services.Drive first-line adoption of enterprise risk frameworks, policies, and processes—develop playbooks, coach leaders, track adherence, and report maturity progress.Embed with Client Services teams to identify, assess, and remediate risks across Visa’s full risk taxonomy (operational, strategic, regulatory, technology, etc.).Execute the RCSA for Client Services, map processes, test key controls, and track issues and risk events.Provide effective challenge and actionable recommendations to first-line leaders, champion automation of manual controls and oversee control-testing efforts.Aggregate and translate complex risk topics into concise updates for senior leadership, committees, regulators, and the Chief Risk Officer.Build dashboards and key risk indicators (KRIs) that give leaders real-time visibility into their risk profile.Strengthen first-line risk capability through fit-for-purpose training (Risk 101 and 201) and ongoing change-management support.Synthesize audit findings, incident reports, third-party reviews, and model-/data-risk results into a holistic risk picture.This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications
10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhDPreferred Qualifications
12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhDDeep knowledge of the payments or broader financial-services industry, including the regulatory landscape.Expert understanding of the Three Lines of Defense model and hands-on application of Enterprise & Operational Risk Management practices (risk appetite, scoring, mitigation, acceptance).Proven ability to influence and partner with stakeholders at all levels in a large, global, matrixed organization.Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, outcome-oriented mindset.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Access optional).Experience leveraging GenAI / advanced analytics in risk management.Hands-on knowledge of IBM OpenPages or similar GRC platforms.General awareness of the technology that underpins payment processing and emerging fintech trends.Additional InformationWork Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 137,300.00 to 199,050.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
