Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director, Safety Processes to develop, manage, and assure efficient, functioning, and suitable processes and tools for deployment of Metso Safety strategy and programs. This role involves working closely with different Business Areas (BAs), Market Areas (MAs), and corporate quality, environmental, and sustainability teams to establish close collaboration with various stakeholders to reach Metso's wide safety targets and contribute to improving the safety performance.
In this role, you will create a positive and collaborative relationship with various stakeholders. You will create efficient and fit-for-purpose processes for the deployment of safety programs with good cooperation and commitment throughout Metso.
This is a global role to be based in Metso Espoo headquarters. You will report to the Vice President of Safety.
What you'll do
Develop, manage, and assure efficient, functioning, and suitable processes and tools for the deployment of the Safety strategy and programs Coordinate the Safety organization’s strategy and implementation plan activities together with safety and line management personnel in the matrix organization Act as the leader of Metso safety IT applications Implement Metso’s corporate Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and programs in compliance with legal requirements and company requirements Support the business in the implementation of Metso safety directives and rules. Participate in defining, developing, and maintaining global safety in cooperation with stakeholders. Develop Metso safety awareness, campaigns, support requirements, and tools. Follow up and report action plans and initiative progress.
Who you are
Extensive knowledge and practical knowhow of process development, lean thinking, and knowledge of lean practices, process thinking, and the ability to see the big picture and process relations Extensive knowledge and 10+ years track record in developing, implementing, and upkeeping safety management systems and strategies Good knowledge on Safety (HSSEQ) topics to understand, support, audit, etc., organizations and locations Excellent persuasion, cooperation, presentation, and training skills within the global matrix and multicultural environment. Ability to lead and influence cross-functional matrix teams to achieve goals. Passion towards health and safety, and driving a strong safety culture
