Director, Sales

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accomplish goals.Directs sales budgeting and forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.Studies market to determine customer needs, and guides sales strategy and pricing.Charged with hiring, training, coaching, and developing a world class sales team.Assigns accounts/territories to Account Managers.Meets with key clients, assisting Account Managers with building relationships, negotiating, and closing deals.Analyzes data to formulate strategy and assist in development of policy and best practices.Drives profit improvement through collaboration opportunities with customers and internally with manufacturing, engineering, and purchasing. eliminate or improve upon unprofitable items.Represents company at trade association meetings and conferences to lead sales growth.Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with Account Managers and other subject matter expert resources.Acts as liaison between sales and other functional areas in the business.Sets and controls expense budgets.Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas for growth.Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.

AUTHORITY LEVEL (if applicable):

EDUCATION:  

Required: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or eight years’ sales experience with at least five years in sales management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
