Job Description:

About the Role: 

 

Director of Sales will have responsibility for the strategic direction and management of a set of customers within TreeHouse Foods, with primary responsibility to manage the relationship while delivering against customer and business unit metrics.  The Director of Sales will partner with cross-functional groups across the organization to expand the current business and develop new revenue opportunities. The Director will provide the highest level of service to the customer and will provide the leadership critical to the execution and achievement of revenue and profit objectives. The Director will provide leadership and direction to develop the Customer Business Manager (CBM) team. The Director of Sales will champion TreeHouse culture & values through their team and communicate customer and channel priorities as well as issues to their counterparts in the divisional organization. 

Roles & Responsibilities:  

Accountable for customer relationships & development 

Responsible for delivery of revenue objective 

Understand divisional needs / priorities and communicate those with CBM team, helping prioritize as needed on how and where to execute across customers in line with business unit plans. 

Work closely with business unit team to leverage category subject matter expertise. 

Work closely with and report directly to VP to implement TreeHouse strategies and create customer/channel specific strategies for growth. 

Lead and develop CBM & team capabilities and category/customer assignments. 

Serve as primary interface with business unit / category leadership (unless necessary to escalate) 

Manages customer and CBM behavior effecting customer P&L performance (terms, deductions, trade, distressed, mix, merchandising) 

Manages and improves CBM forecast. 

Accountable for customer/channel performance vs. plan (revenue & margin), full customer/channel and P&L ownership​ 

Influences customer-supplier scorecard metrics messaging and metrics internal/external ​ 

Delivers on forecast accuracy​. 

Align on communication efforts with the following key stakeholders: 

Customers- Directors, Replenishment, Buyers as needed. 

TreeHouse Leadership -VPs and GM: Communicate and execute TreeHouse strategies and customer-specific growth strategies 

CBMs - Lead development and mentorship 

Other TreeHouse stakeholders- Finance, Customer Supply Chain, Integrated Planning, Strategy, Supply Chain Business Operations, R&D 

 

About You: 

You’ll fit right in if you have: 

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field. 

Minimum of 10 years of experience and knowledge of sales, manufacturing, and the food Industry 

Minimum 5 years of supervisor experience 

Strong business and financial acumen 

Possess strategic thinking, leadership, teamwork, and analytical skills. 

Proven ability to develop innovative and creative solutions that result in higher profitability; ability to manage complexity in ambiguous situations. 

Proven track record of achieving or exceeding budgeted sales and profit objectives. 

Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment. 

High comfort level with ambiguity and change 

Excellent sales and problem-solving skills; strong negotiation capabilities 

Excellent verbal and written communications skills 

MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 

IRI, SAP- BI experience a plus 

The ability to travel to various TreeHouse Foods locations, customer appointments, industry events, or other related functions approximately 20-60%
