Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Director to lead and drive the sales performance of our sales teams representing our three brands: Edelman, Knoll Textiles and Maharam. The Sales Director will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, managing the performance and development of team members, and achieving sales targets to support the company’s growth objectives. This role requires a proactive leader with excellent communication, analytical, and motivational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership & Development:
o Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets.
o Lead and manage sales business in respective region
o Develop annual growth strategies for regional businesses
o Manage regional businesses to annual budgets
o Identify skill gaps and provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
o Foster a positive, high-performance culture that supports professional growth and collaboration.
2. Sales Strategy & Execution:
o The Maharam Way: Teaching, measuring and holding their teams to a high standard based on “The Maharam Way” protocol.
o Develop and implement effective sales strategies aligned with the company’s goals.
o Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
o Set clear sales objectives and ensure team accountability.
3. Performance Management:
o Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance using KPIs and metrics.
o Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and team reviews to provide feedback and address performance issues.
o Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
o Project Meetings: These should take place every 6 – 12 weeks with each rep and should be used to highlight sales opportunities at top clients, significant projects the rep is working and any relevant follow up required.
4. Customer Relationship Management:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
o Address customer concerns and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
o Collaborate with the sales team to identify and close new business opportunities.
5. Reporting & Analysis:
o Prepare and present regular sales performance reports to senior management.
o Use data and analytics to make informed decisions and adjust strategies as needed.
o Forecast sales and budget planning based on market analysis and trends.
6. Travel
o Frequent and regular travel with your Sales Team with a minimum expectation of 2 days/quarter. More may be needed, should opportunities arise. Trip Focus includes a full day of sales calls and client-entertainment with at least 30 minutes set aside to discuss the reps’ approach and performance.
o Written recaps for trips and project meetings by the manager must be given to sales reps within 72 of a visit or meeting. These recaps should highlight what was discussed during their time together and recap the areas of focus for the rep.

This position reports to Vice President of Sales.
Contacts inside and outside the organization
This position has contact with clients, support staff both internal and external, operations and management teams.

Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent,
5+ years of sales and sales management experience
