Job Description

What you get to do in this role:

The Director, Sales Finance will play a meaningful role leading several functions within sales finance.  

Global Sales Functions Primary Business Partner: serve as the primary finance partner for planning, budget management and finance insights to the Global Sales Functions (which includes strategic accounts, sales operations, ServiceNow.org and solution consulting). 

Global Sales Compensation: serve as the finance leader responsible for setting global sales compensation budget (planning and management). Work cross functionally with sales leadership and HR to define sales incentive plans and track performance against plan. 

Strategic Deal Structuring: Partner with our strategic account sales team to structure large, complex sales deals. Work cross-functionally to coordinate G&A functions centrally for these deals. 

Day to Day Activities Will Include: 

Business Partnership: Be the go-to strategic financial partner and advisor to senior leaders within the Global Sales Functions Manage a team: Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals in executing deliverables  Budget Management / Forecasting: Manage your business partner’s forecast and budget Deliver Financial Insights: Provide meaningful insights into financial results and develop actionable strategies and recommendations to drive business decisions; identify and monitor key business model drivers and measure performance against established financial goals. 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field of studyMinimum of 12 years of experience in finance and/or accounting (could include both corporate finance and/or investment banking, private equity experience) Experience leading and managing teams Deep experience with financial planning and analysis Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a solid understanding of financial modeling Proven ability to develop and present financial reporting to senior audiences, both technical and non-technical Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong analytical and financial planning experience to analyze financial data and develop recommendations to drive business decisions. An exceptional ability to interpret financial data, identify trends/anomalies against expectations, and develop clear, actionable strategies. Self-starter mentality, requiring little guidance and who demonstrates initiative, strong communication skills, and an aptitude for problem-solving.

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $178,900 - $313,100, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
