Job Description

Ingram Content Group (ICG) is hiring for a Director, Sales (Library) to contribute to our Ingram Library Services (ILS) team in LaVergne, TN just outside Nashville.  We offer hybrid schedules for a mix of onsite and remote work, but this position will require this person to live in the Greater Nashville area.

The Director, Sales will develop and execute the sales strategy for Ingram Library Services, focusing on growing existing revenue streams and creating new ones. They will lead the sales organization to grow Ingram’s market share and ensure sales goals are achieved. In collaboration with the leadership team, the director will define the strategic direction and execution of Library Services’ global growth initiatives, focusing on those that have potential for cross-company flywheel impact. The ideal candidate will have experience in business development, writing a business plan, sales management, budgeting, and forecasting.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or year for year directly related experience10 years sales or business development experience in a library related industry5 years management experience3 years strategic planning experience

Preferred Skills:

Public Library experienceComfortable with current and emerging technologies (Microsoft Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, AI)Experience writing business plansExperience budgeting and forecasting for revenueSolid presentation skills and communication skillsStrong negotiation skills

Key Responsibilities:

Plans and executes business development strategies and initiatives that maximize revenue and margin for the company.Develops and drives the value proposition of Ingram Library Services via sales and service initiatives.Identifies potential new opportunities that promote long-term growth and proposes deals in response to business opportunities.Interacts with relevant business units in the development of project execution and implementation planning.Prepares and conducts presentations for executive leadership on new business development.Participates in strategic planning, product pricing, contract discounting and the development of programs and services.Coaches, counsels, supports, and manages performance of sales managers and provides positive and/or corrective feedback in a timely manner.Establishes comprehensive ILS annual sales and margin goals.Maintains relationships with key customers, prospects and industry leaders.Projects and forecasts annual and quarterly sales revenue.Participates in department expense budgeting process including tracking, reporting and variance explanations.
