Director, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Compliance and Innovation
**Primary Job Location** : (USA) Will need to be currently located in or willing to relocate to the Whitestone, NY area. **Travel:** This role requires up to 25% travel with the ability to commute to the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday). **Education** : Bachelor's degree in food science or relevant science discipline required. **Job Description Summary** : The Director, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Compliance and Innovation develops, improves, and drives compliance to all Regulatory requirements at BODYARMOR. In addition, this role also manages supplier quality. This person will be a strong leader who works well cross functionally to assure Regulations in the country of sale are applied and complied to at the design phase of Innovation through to first production and in-market. This resource will lead the assessment, approval and ongoing improvement of suppliers and the assessment and approval of all raw and packaging materials. **Required Experience** : *Must have 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar Regulatory role, food and beverage experience preferred. + Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of the FDA Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Regulations, as well as working knowledge of USDA, EPA, and state and local requirements. + Experience in international food and beverage regulations (Canada, Mexico) is desired. + Genesis experience in developing product labeling required + Leadership: People management experience is desired *Must have a Bachelor's degree in science or a related discipline, Masters's (incl. Registered Dietitian) preferred. + CFS, PCQI, and HACCP certified with experience in developing, writing, and implementing plans. **What You'll Do for Us** **:** **RESPONSIBILITIES:** Regulatory: 70% + Lead and drive compliance to the BODYARMOR Regulatory program end-to-end + Develop, document, and lead the implementation of the BODYARMOR Regulatory requirements through policy and procedure + Develop and approve all labels including Nutritional Facts Panels (NFP's) and Ingredient Statements in compliance to FDA regulations and BODYARMOR standards + Evaluate, substantiate, and approve all product claims + Lead the state water label registration and licensing + Keep up to date on all new and relevant emerging Industry Regulations and develop plans for implementation and or/mitigation Supplier Quality: 30% + Lead the BODYARMOR Supplier Quality program end-to-end + Develop, document, and lead the implementation of the BODYARMOR Supplier Quality requirements through policy and procedure + Assess and approve all new suppliers + Lead Quality and Food Safety audits of all suppliers + Drive and lead supplier, and raws and packs performance improvement activities + Review and approve all new raw materials and packaging + Lead the microbiological, food fraud, and FSVP assessments and mitigations on materials and suppliers + Review and approve finished product specifications + Lead the product certifications programs including Kosher and NSF for sport **What You'll Need** **:** **QUALIFICATIONS:** + Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in science or a related discipline is required, Masters (incl. Registered Dietitian) preferred + Experience: 5 to 7 yrs. It falls in the middle of the range for your role, indicating performance at target.
