The Division of Infectious Diseases within the School of Medicine at the University of Maryland, Baltimore has an opening for a Senior Clinical Business Operations Director. This position directs the day-to-day clinical business operations of the Infectious Disease Division. This position will work closely with the Director of the two ID Divisions and the Associate Director of Clinical Care to define, plan, implement and manage operations and strategies that will achieve the goals and objectives while supporting the strategic mission of the organization.

Essential Functions:
Provides management and supervision of large administrative team for two Divisions.
Provide financial and administrative oversight of all clinical research grants to ensure that all deliverables are met. Monitoring and reviewing the use of grant funds to ensure that all expenditures strictly adhere to the rules and guidelines set forth by the sponsors.
Assist in the administration of the clinical enterprise: ensuring best practices, improving systems/strategy, create revenue optimization, monitor faculty productivity, and direct clinical improvement opportunities.
Provide solutions for maximizing clinical productivity.
Work with the clinical department to oversee facility space allocation and layout.
Create, project, and achieve divisional financial objectives.
Manage funding profiles and payroll.
Provide direction by assuring that proposals and awards comply with federal, state, agency, and institutional policies.
Maintain and promote awareness of advances in medicine, computerized diagnostic and treatment equipment, data processing technology, government regulations, health insurance changes, and financing options. Direct oversight of clinician licensure, credentials, and develops training to ensure faculty are in compliance with campus, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Create a cohesive work team that works collaboratively to achieve Divisional goals. Oversee the recruitment, performance, and training of team members and continually reviews strengths and weaknesses of staff to maintain a well-trained, highly involved, and motivated team. Handle complaints, resolve conflicts, and active in the grievance process.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, finance, marketing, accounting, human resources, or other related field. Master's degree preferred.
Experience: Eight (8) years of experience in administrative and financial operations with at least one (1) years' experience in managed care, medical practice, or a related clinical environment
Supervisory Experience: Four (4) years of direct supervisory or management experience.
Certification/Licensure: N/A
Other: Annual financial disclosure required by Maryland State Law.
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. Hiring Range: $173,000 - $192,000 (Commensurate with education and experience)
