The Regulatory Advisory and Transformation legal group supports Citi business lines, legal entity management teams, Compliance, Government & Public Affairs and Regulatory Engagement teams. The group provides technical legal advice on banking & financial services regulatory change impacting Citi including policy advocacy on proposed new regulations, advising on the potential impact of new regulations to Citi business lines and legal entities, regulatory change implementation and regulatory-driven business change projects. The team also acts as subject-matter experts on key financial services regulations impacting Citi’s businesses. Additionally, the team advises on Citi’s strategic equity investing activities, which may often see Citi investing in or acquiring regulated companies such as trading venues and payment services providers. Examples include advising on LIBOR and benchmark reform; regulatory considerations for Citi’s digital asset initiatives; uncleared margin rules, OTC derivatives transaction reporting; prudential capital rules; financial services licensing and regulatory perimeter issues; and business change initiatives such as the establishment of new Citi business lines and legal entities. The team requires a senior regulatory lawyer based in Asia to advise on banking and financial services regulations impacting Citi’s businesses in the region and would lead a team of three experienced regulatory lawyers. The role would be the senior regulatory lawyer for Citi in the Asia time zone, supporting regional business managers, regional Compliance managers and Citi’s product-aligned lawyers. The Legal Executive Group Manager (Regulatory) is a senior management-level position within the Legal Department that is responsible for managing a team and serving as a key strategic partner to senior business stakeholders and functional partners in matters of Regulations. The overall objective of this role is to set the strategy for and manage a team providing day-to-day legal advice and guidance on Regulations areas to Citi Businesses and Functions in the region. This role leads a team of lawyers providing guidance, support, and legal advice on Regulations to Citi's businesses and functions and has a significant degree of responsibility and authority. This role requires solid conceptual / practical grounding in the laws and regulations for the geographies in which we operate. This role also requires significant management responsibilities, including talent management, budgeting (including headcount and financial), and strategic planning for the team. This role has authority to negotiate and make independent decisions on issues / activities that have critical impact or influence on the company. **In this role, you’re expected to:** The role will be responsible for delivering technical and commercially-focused regulatory interpretive advice to Citi stakeholders on regulatory and business change developments impacting on Citi in the region.
