Who we’re looking for:

The TFS Enterprise Platforms team is seeking a highly motivated person to fill an opening as a Director Software Engineering – Real Time Platforms to help our growing Enterprise platforms needs. This position will lead a team of engineers responsible for delivering industry leading real time platform and and tools as part of the platform engineering offering for our development teams

What you’ll be doing

Leadership and Team Management:

Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

Provide guidance, support, and coaching to team members to ensure individual and team goals are met.

Manage performance evaluations, career development, and succession planning for the team.

Technology Strategy and Execution:

Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for technology initiatives to deliver industry leading real time platform and tools that can be leveraged for cloud based distributed systems, AI/ML, critical workflows, enabling seamless communication across systems for customer notifications, servicing updates, and operational events.

Implement advanced solutions using technologies like Kafka, AWS MQ, and other distributed systems to support real-time communication at scale.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technology solutions that enhance employee experience.

Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve and innovate our technology offerings.

Vendor Management and Partnerships:

Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and drive value-added partnerships to support our technology initiatives.

What you bring

12+ years of expertise as a Software Engineering Leader with experience in designing and implementing modern 12 factor, application frameworks to promote reuse and cloud native business technology solutions.

5+ years Practical knowledge of cloud platforms, advanced software design patterns & architecture, operations and software engineering.

Proven credentials and certification in cloud technologies

10+ years of experience with real-time event-driven architectures using Kafka and related technologies.

7+ years of roven expertise in rule engine development and optimization, including designing high-performance systems that replace legacy solutions.

5+ years of legacy system modernization, with hands-on experience in transforming auto finance loan origination and servicing applications; including migration from monolithic architectures to cloud-native, microservices-based solutions.

Demonstrated track record of innovation in customer-centric applications with industry leading and/or patented offerings.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in AI/ML, including understanding Generative AI use cases.

10+ years of experience with Java, Spring Framework (Spring Batch, Spring Integration), streaming technologies (like kafka) and microservices architecture.

Strong communication skills with the ability to move seamlessly between conversing with engineers or frontline ops employees and leading presentations with non-technical stakeholders.

A passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code.

Ability to deliver technology solutions that result in measurable cost savings, such as multimillion-dollar efficiencies through platform upgrades and custom-built solutions.

Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 15+ years of experience in software engineering, and a minimum of 7 years of experience in leadership roles managing large, diverse teams.

8+ years of demonstrated experience with leading multi-disciplinary teams in designing and delivering enterprise-scale solutions.
