Director, Sponsorships
Responsibilities The Director, Sponsorships will play a critical role in the day-to-day management and contractual fulfillment of all long-term, multi-year partnerships. This individual will liaise between all client (brand, agencies, etc.) and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless fulfillment and delivery of assets (contractual and incremental), activation planning, event execution and partnership operations. This role will report to the SVP of Marketing, Partnerships and Events for Hudson Yards. Sponsorship Fulfillment Act as the main point of contact for Hudson Yards sponsors and integrated agency teams, managing partnership aspects including, but not limited to, contractual fulfillment, executing on contractual deliverables, annual budget planning and forecasting, event execution and identifying incremental sales and fulfillment opportunities. Work with internal and external stakeholders to create and manage joint collateral pieces, including on-site digital, out-of-home, print, social and content sizzle reels. Provide leadership in and develop the planning and execution of events with sponsor asset inclusion. Works cross-functionally to identify and propose sponsorship-related assets for owned and operated programs. Maintain regular communication and build strong relationships with all sponsor contacts (both internal and external). Create, maintain and update relevant sponsorship packages, templates and agreements as well as recaps reports related to specific programs or annual fulfillment reports. Ensure that all sponsorship agreements are processed and tracked internally, including short-term, long-term, incremental and renewal documents. Work closely with accounting and legal teams to manage P&L’s and prepare sponsor invoices. Maintain regular communication with Senior Vice President, via weekly or even daily check ins including escalating issues and proposing solutions. Provide significant assistance in the planning and execution of events with major sponsorship components. Strategy, Sales, Planning and Procurement Engage in ongoing research to identify new corporate sponsorship opportunities, including conducting industry and competitive scans across the sports, entertainment and lifestyle sponsorship landscapes. Develop annual presentation that outlines all owned and operated opportunities. Work with Senior Vice President and internal stakeholders to develop, coordinate and create ownable sponsorship programs. Prepare and contact targeted lists of potential sponsors per event, in consultation with the Senior Vice President and Leadership Team. Grow sponsor base into new areas including key sectors in the Hudson Yards sponsor base. Work with creative team to develop sales materials that differentiates Hudson Yards sponsorship offering. Work with IP/legal teams to create term sheets, deal memos and corresponding paperwork to finalize sponsorship deals. Compensation $125,000 - $155,000 / year Annual performance based bonus Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, marketing or event management. Minimum 7+ years in a sponsorship activation and account management role. Comfortable multi-tasking and meeting tight deadlines in a busy team environment. Team player with a no task is too big; no task is too small attitude. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining strong attention to detail. Excellent written and communication skills. Strong administrative skills. Competence in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience and knowledge of the financial services category is a plus. Competence in G-Suite and Google Drive is a plus. Performance Criteria Contribute fully and effectively to the success of the organization. Working Conditions This role is primarily based in an office environment, and will require the ability to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays at times Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
