Job Description DUTIES & AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides advice and recommendations to senior management on key investment and financial decisions. 
Conducts comprehensive business case analysis on the strategic initiatives of the company, as necessary Manages Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) projects and provides lead support to strategic JV initiatives, to include managing the various due diligence teams.
Creates and maintains a financial model that captures and reflects the Company’s medium to long term plans for use in various activities ranging from strategic game-play analysis to ratings agency/creditor discussions, and capital structure and dividend policy updates.
Manages the financial modeling of the balance sheet, consolidation of financial statements, and running of sensitivity analysis during the annual budget exercise and the succeeding quarterly reforecasts.
Provides a comprehensive competitive analysis of the quarterly financial and operating performance of Globe vis-à-vis the other wireless and wireline players.
Oversees review and analysis of business cases and capex proposals for SLT and BOD approval. 
Assists operating units in the preparation of business cases and evaluation of lease/make/buy options, and the presentation of the same to senior management
Provides advice and recommendations to project proponents and management in order to enhance project viability and improve corporate returns. 
Monitors project performance relative to original business case commitments and oversees completion of project post-implementation reviews.
Manage the career plans and learning & development needs of staff


NATURE OF PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED

Has dependencies with other divisions for completion of financial reports, business cases -  difficulty in liaising and getting requirements from some concerned units
Solution – setting of deadlines across all divisions involved in the completion and submission  of    financial reports and business cases


REQUIREMENTS



Work Experience

At least 10 years of experience in financial management, 5  years of which are spent in a managerial capacity; work experience in the telco industry is preferred

     

Level of Knowledge

B.S. Accounting, Economics, Finance or Business Management graduate;  preferably with MBA degree or a CFA charter holder

In-depth experience in financial modeling and analysis and a mastery of the various valuation methodologies
Working knowledge of accounting, treasury, and taxation rules and a good understanding of Philippine macroeconomic developments
Ability to simultaneously manage several high-impact projects with various objectives and expected output, and under tight deadlines
Capable of looking at both the big picture as well as to zero in on the details and connect these two to produce clear and integrated analysis and recommendation for  management
Has the initiative to get involved in different major activities of the Company and offer assistance and solutions that will help the company achieve shareholder value growth 
Ability to effectively communicate and present to senior management the results of the business valuations and other financial analysis completed by the team
Ability to effectively manage people resources, including developing and executing staff development and succession plans
