As the Director, Strategic Business Operations you will report into the Vice President and provide strategic thought leadership and program management on key areas affecting the success of the business unit:

Driving the long-term business strategy development addressing partnering organic growth.Supporting initiatives that involve multiple divisions to make the most of TFS's extensive resources and capabilities.Program managing cross-functional initiatives around strategic focus areas.

A critical part of this role will be the ability to translate strategy into actions and partner with the Bioanalytical and Vaccines Business Unit Leadership Team to implement.

Serves as a liaison between the executive and key internal stakeholders and external stakeholders. Dives deep into metrics and scans the business to identify potentially significant issues, prioritizes issues brought by leaders and, when needed, communicates requests to executive as well as internal and external stakeholders, as appropriate.

A day in the Life:

Sits on operational meetings, records next-steps, holds leaders accountable for solving issues, follows up on actions, briefs executive and leads special projects.Leads executive, cross-divisional strategic efforts such as development of incremental growth strategies.Provides counsel at the executive level on operational issues.Works closely with the executive and management team in contributing to the annual planning process to ensure alignment with strategic priorities.Identifies potential issues, conducts appropriate research, asks follow up questions, and briefs the executive on key issues.Implements, executes and operates a reporting mechanism, including a detailed follow up system to track action items and key responsibilities, which will allow for a timely flow of necessary data (reports, presentations, ideas, issues, questions, information, etc.) in from all relevant departments and direct reports.Contributes to strategic planning and translates business performance gaps into performance optimizing strategies.

Education and Experience

University degree in business, life sciences, health care or related field.10+ years of relevant professional experience

In some cases, an equivalency consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Develop the strategy

Collaborate with all functional teams across the business to gather input and provide support for critical planning and projects.Prepare and share periodic executive reports on the progress of strategic projects and provide updates during business reviews and deep dives using metrics, roadmaps, dashboards & actual financials.Foster and sustain strong relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, partners, industry experts, and government entities.Evaluate the business portfolio and develop strategic rationale and recommendations on changes to the focus and levels of investment/ resource allocation.Work with external and internal teams to define primary research projects scope aligned with the strategic plan and available budget.Collaborate with functional leaders to identify and present potential opportunities to senior management for evaluation and decision-making.
