DIRECTOR, STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS LEARNING, VALUE EVIDENCE SCIENTIFIC ENGAGEMENT

Johnson Johnson is currently recruiting for a Director, Strategic Communications Learning (SCL), part of the Scientific Affairs Value Evidence Scientific Engagement (VESE) team to be located in Titusville, NJ or Horsham, PA.

This position will be (onsite/hybrid) in Titusville, New Jersey. Alternate onsite/hybrid locations may be considered in Horsham, Pennsylvania

This is an opening for one of two positions, either in immunology or oncology

The Value Evidence Scientific Engagement (VESE) organization, within Scientific Affairs, engages with Population Health Decision Makers (PHDM) across the product lifecycle to share clinical and economic information about approved and investigational drug therapies, address potential impact on formulary and coverage decisions, treatment paradigms, and budgets, and enhance understanding of the value of innovation, health equity implications, and market dynamics.

Key accountabilities and/or activities of this position:

Demonstrate value through superior scientific communications:

§ Anticipate critical market access needs and develop scientific communication strategies, in close partnership with cross functional partners from VESE Field, Medical Affairs, Strategic Customer Group (SCG) and others

§ Drive and lead the timely development and approval of PHDM-centric resources. Examples include: Evidence andAccessDecks (EADs),pipeline decks, economic decks,and other proactive and reactive resources.

§ Lead a team with direct accountability for the development and execution of strategic proactive and reactive PHDM-centric resources

- Created perFDA guidance, regulations, and SOPs

- Based on PHDM needs (content, source, story flow)

- Adeptly navigated through review and approval processes, including Copy Approval Committee

- Updatedbased on new data and insights

- Shaped by Field insights/voice-of-customer

§ Driveresource effectiveness and efficiency by sharing scientific content and best practices across functions including, Medical Affairs, Research Development, Global Commercial Strategic Organization

§ Collaborate regularly acrossScientific Affairs,Strategic Customer Group (SCG), Medical Affairs, Research Development, Commercialto ensure communication materials are accurate, effective, and consistent to medical strategy

Optimize VESE Field learning experience

§ Increase Field team effectiveness by identifying training needs, building education resources, aligning account strategies, and implementing best practices for scientific and non-scientific learning

§ Oversee the design and delivery of training strategy, content, and materials, incorporating adult learning and instructional design principles

Develop, recruit, and retain diverse talent that drives business performance for accountable therapeutic areas

§ Partner with the Leadership Team and Human Resource to recruit based on current and future talent needs and identify talent pools in and outside of JJ

§ Develop current talent by providing meaningful feedback and identifying opportunities for further growth

§ Create an environment where employees feel empowered to make decisions, try new things, have authentic conversations, and champion diverse perspectives

§ Enable the team to learn and apply customer insights

§ Support efforts to strengthen scientific and technical expertise, leadership capabilities, project management capabilities and business acumen

Drive continuous improvement and other:

§ Identify and execute projects that accelerate and improve communication and learning strategies and processes

§ Drive the adoption of new guidelines, standards, training, and technologies

§ Design and establish benchmarks that measure the impact and effectiveness of communication resources and learning programs on overall performance

§ Ensure continuous and timely flow of information on key communication activities, achievements, and needs of the Field organization to leaders

§ Lead the process to select communication agencies and/or contractors and be responsible for their execution, including managing output, compliance, and budget

§ Develop and maintain functional business plan and budget for accountable therapeutic areas

Qualifications:

Education:

§ A masters, advanced degree, or equivalent in a scientific, health economics, health policy or related field is required

Professional Experience:

§ Oncology experience is preferred

§ 8 or more years of experience in the pharm or healthcare industry, preferably in health economics, market access, communications, or related functions

§ 8 or more years medical communications, marketing, medical writing, medical information, scientific research, or related experience is required

§ Experience managing individuals is required

§ Experience managing a budget is preferred

§ Knowledge of US Heath care system, financing, and delivery is required

§ Knowledge of pharmaceutical strategies and tactics to meet commercial and scientific objectives for a given product is required

§ Understanding of regulatory guidance and regulations related to conducting research and disseminating scientific information is required

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $160000 to 276000

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. ·
