The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description

We are seeking a proactive and dynamic leader to join the Business Agility Operations team as a Director, Strategic Programs. As your initial focus, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of segment business plans and collaborate closely with the COO and operations teams to enhance business agility processes and enable achievement of business outcomes. You will lead initiatives to optimize the Business Agility Technology Investment portfolio as we evolve towards continuous planning, ensuring alignment across segments and global capabilities.

 

Your expertise will be critical in strengthening our program framework, advocating for the adoption of business agility processes, and fostering communication between stakeholders. You'll participate in strategic meetings, drive process improvement initiatives, and support business readiness within the segment. Your ability to navigate complex challenges and provide actionable insights will enhance our operational effectiveness and contribute to our continuous-improvement culture.

 

Responsibilities

 

Understand Segment Business Strategy: Develop a strong understanding of segment business plans (SBPs) and how technology can support and enable those strategies.Collaborate with COO and Segment Operations: Work closely with COO and segment operations teams to articulate (and provide feedback on) business agility processes related to intake, prioritization, roadmaps, and continuous planning.Portfolio Knowledge: Develop a thorough understanding of the full Business Agility Technology Investment portfolio with depth in investments that provide benefit for the aligned segment.Program Framework: Collaborate with peers to develop a program placemat that includes all programs across Business Agility, standard cadences, and engagement approaches.Partner with Business Agility Domain Leaders: Work closely with Business Agility Domain Leaders to ensure alignment and coordination on segment engagement, acting as a liaison as needed on specific investmentsAttend COO and Segment Operations Meetings: Participate in COO and segment operations staff meetings and offsites to gain insights into segment needs and provide bi-directional representation from the business agility perspective.Support Annual Planning Process: Partner with COO, segment planning lead and segment operations to facilitate the annual planning process, identifying and prioritizing opportunities for process improvement.Identify Global Investment Synergies: In partnership with Domain Leaders, help identify and facilitate opportunities for global or cross-segment investment synergies, leveraging segment-specific insights.Align Operating Reviews: Collaborate with Business Agility operations peers to align on segment operating reviews, grounded in a common foundation while incorporating segment-specific attributes as needed. Act as facilitator for segment specific reviews, working closely with Domain Leaders to ensure high-quality, action-oriented content.Advocate for Business Agility Processes: Gain a deep understanding of business agility processes and advocate for their adoption within COO and segment operations, while also bringing forward segment-focused opportunities for improvement.Support Business Readiness: Contribute to the business readiness process and support its maturity within the segment.Facilitate Global Intake Process: Engage with Global Governance and Domain Leaders to facilitate the PRE-global intake process from a segment perspective.Reporting and Communications: Monitor and share segment-specific outcomes and wins in executive materials and cross-organization communications. Qualifications Bachelor`s degree in business administration, marketing, operations, finance or other related fieldMBA or other relevant advanced degree desiredMinimum 8 years of relevant general business experience, to include experience with consulting, strategic planning, operations, and project managementStrong knowledge of project and program management principles, concepts and tools, including 3+ years of relevant experience in managing projectsProject management certification preferredDemonstrated understanding of the commercial and specialty (re)insurer market, potentially showcased by professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, ARe, etcExcellent communication skillsMust be driven and flexible enough to succeed in ambiguous and less structured situationsHigh degree of reliability and integrityExcellent attention to detail and organizational skills, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple complex projects at one time with competing and shifting prioritiesExpert influencing skills, with a strong ability to build consensus among multiple levels and functions within the organization About Us
