Strategic Sourcing Director – Procurement

The Role

Strategic Sourcing leads highly complex, visible Procurement projects in support of all Fidelity business units. We provide strategic and tactical direction to cross functional teams by evaluating, negotiating, and contracting with suppliers for first time engagements and renewals. We value and support teamwork and partnership with Business Units, Legal, Enterprise Cyber-Security, Privacy and Risk as well as other internal customers across the organization. Our goal is to minimize risk and optimize value to Fidelity. Managing relationships with key partner groups, participating in cross-function initiatives to drive heightened effectiveness and efficiency and mentoring of junior associates are expectations of the role.

The Expertise and Skills you Bring

Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of equivalent experience in Procurement and supplier negotiations 2+ years’ experience leading complex projects including but not limited to technology Proactive management and development of key business partner relationships Ability to work well in teams to achieve results Solid understanding of complex contracting negotiations and the ability to negotiate and provide support to contract management and legal personnel on standard and non-standard agreements Ability to influence business team members and senior executives through fact-based decision support Experience working and collaborating with technology leaders at all levels Solid program and project management skills Strong consultative skills that enable effective collaboration Project management and leadership skills Strong negotiation and influencing skills Creativity, flexibility, and ability to thrive amid ambiguity Strong executive presence and confidence working with all organizational levels Positive relationship management capabilities that will get you a seat at the leadership table of our key business partners (ex. The Value You Deliver

Provide business leaders with proposal and contract analysis and a point-of-view for decision support Understand business objectives of the applicable Fidelity business team and integrate those requirements into a customized strategy appropriate to the project Ability to use data to influence Procurement and Business leaders to make informed business decisions Provide the Procurement organization with recommendations, modifications, and process improvement opportunities Provide guidance to senior leadership and mentorship to colleagues as in areas of expertise Leverage experience and knowledge to provide thought leadership with business partners Respond to shifting priorities while maintaining progress of regularly scheduled work Provide strong team leadership through coaching, mentoring, providing relevant, actionable feedback

We look to Strategic Sourcing team members to assist our business partners in engaging Procurement to secure products and/or services through new vendor or existing vendor relationships.
