Summary:

The Director, Strategy and Commercial Development will lead efforts to support Strategy, Business Development, and the Pipeline in Neurology.  This position will help to guide strategic assessments and will be responsible for integrating strategic recommendations across Neuroscience to maximize the opportunities and value of the franchise overall. Leads Commercial Teams and represents commercial interests on Global Program Teams. Domestic and International travel required (~20%).

Responsibilities:

Leads development of market opportunity assessments and asset-agnostic disease-level commercialization deliverables, including TOPs and patient journeys.Helps drive Strategic Planning process across R&D, Commercialization, and enabling functions for the franchiseBuilds a long-term view of the market evolution and identifies opportunities for potential new technologies and platforms that will support BMS in achieving its leadership ambition and building a sustainable growth franchiseEnsures comprehensive assessments of competitive data and events, assesses emerging trends that could impact strategy, and identifies implications and integrates into brand strategy and plansTranslates new evidence into product strategy to maximize opportunities in driving appropriate patient usagePartners with opinion leaders, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders, external agencies and vendors to reinforce BMS’s commitment in key therapeutic areasPartners with MAx team to ensure optimized access and uptake at launch through designing optimized development strategies to meet future market needsBuilds a deep understanding of local market dynamics, including customer and competitive insights, and identifies growth opportunities to drive global development and launchAble to lead and influence across functions and levels to guide optimized development for future commercial successUnderstands and stays abreast of changes in the policy and global markets and considers implications in development of TA franchise strategies

Qualifications:

BA/BS required; life sciences degree or equivalent desirable. MBA / graduate degree highly preferredMinimum 8 years of progressive industry experience including demonstrated marketing experienceProven track record of commercial expertise across products in various stages of development, from pipeline to launch to in-market preferredUS and Global experience preferredFunctional experience within Neuroscience strongly preferredDemonstrated scientific acumen. Understanding of drug development processes and regulatory pathways, product design, new product evaluationUnderstanding of commercial aspects of drug development including global/country market dynamics, operational feasibility, market access, patient advocacy, regulatory and reimbursement challenges across both domestic and international marketsAbility to critically assess opportunities with disciplined thinking to determine what is best for patients and our business, and to influence / build alignment with stakeholdersStrong financial acumen with the ability to assimilate complex information to create and manage budgets and meet financial targetsProven track record demonstrating breadth and depth of experience across marketing competencies and exemplary achievement of performance objectives.Demonstrated experience in leading strategically, communicating with impact, and creating a strong, inclusive, energizing culture consistent with BMS values
