Position Overview:

The Director of Strategy & Operations is responsible for aiding in formulating and implementing ES strategies. Underpinned by a strong internal network, a passion for Process Improvement, and the ability to forge strong Business Partnerships, this position plays an integral role in Program / Portfolio Management, Annual Business Planning, and other Key Leadership Initiatives. The role is focused on the areas below: 

20% - Strategy Development and Strategic Priority Setting for ES 

30% - Program / Portfolio Management and supporting the ES Business Planning Process 

50% - Business Partnership, Process Improvement, Disciplined Decision Support 

 

What You’ll Do for Us: 

Strategy Development: 

Identify internal and external strategic issues and opportunities impacting Global Business Organizations today. 

Identify value creation opportunities and business model innovation and facilitate cross-enterprise initiatives. 

Program / Portfolio Management:  

Lead and support the ES Business Planning process through Program / Portfolio Management of key initiatives and all related financials. 

Orchestrate ES Digital Council governance, submission, and tracking. 

Partner closely with related stakeholders such as Global Planning, Global Functions, OU, and ES Hubs. 

Expertise in leveraging enterprise tracking systems to manage a portfolio of initiatives, with advanced analytics capabilities (e.g., Power BI) to present information to diverse audiences effectively. 

Business Partnership & Process Improvement 

Orchestrate and reinforce key initiatives and Steering Committee routines as a supportive business partner to other parts of the networked organization (ES Hubs, Global Functions, and OU’s). 

Improve existing general business processes to meet business goals: 

Apply continuous improvement principles against our ways of working in partnership with the ES Transformation and Communications leads. 

Embody design thinking principles to improve service quality, end-user experience and customer satisfaction. 

Promote and share best practices that sustain business process improvement across the organization. 

 

Education Requirements: 

Required: Undergraduate degree in business, economics or related field 

Preferred: MBA, Masters in business or finance, and/or professional certification such as CFA 

 
Qualifications & Requirements: 

The ideal candidate will have at least 5-7 years of experience in increasing responsibility roles, including strategy, planning, financial analysis, project management, and operational roles.  

Superior analytical and influencing skills are both required. The candidate ideally will also possess a strong proficiency in tools such as Power BI and be able to tailor reports to meet the specific needs of end users. 

Ability to work in a self-directed, agile manner and establish versions 1.0, 2.0, etc.  Effectively balance competing priorities based on the highest priorities of the enterprise. 

Experience working internationally (though not necessarily living overseas) is preferred, as this position deals daily with stakeholders around the world.  

Curiosity with a high level of learning agility is critical, as well as understanding any given initiative’s upstream and downstream interdependencies. 

As this is a highly visible position, the candidate must have strong communication skills and prepare meaningful, insightful, and actionable presentations and recommendations for management to aid decision-making. 

Strategic thinking to be able to see the big picture from a business perspective yet have the tools and experience to drill down and perform detailed analysis as needed. 

Important to be able to connect the dots in ambiguous situations.

Pay Range:

$164,000 - $193,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
