The Opportunity
The Asia Technology team has the mandate to ensure we deliver business and IT initiatives that enables Manulife’s strategic vision. We work across the different countries within the Asia region, partnering with local countries to deliver processes and solutions that deliver value for our distributors, customers, employees and shareholders. The Director, Strategy Performance & Reporting will ensure that we are closely monitoring our progress in-line with the Tech Strategy for the Asia Segment. The role will be heavily involved in conducting analysis, developing strategic narratives to stakeholders internally and externally, serving as a partner to functions, and executing and coordinating on our key strategic initiatives that significantly contribute to Manulife Technology's aspirations. The role will report to the Head of Asia CIO Business Management and will work closely with the Regional Technolgy team and its business counterparts.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead the Asia Technology Strategic Planning exercise, ensure alignment of the plan with business objectives and monitor plan execution
Proactively manage and report Asia Technology KPIs performance for markets. Establish performance measures, and establish KPIs to ensure delivery and effectiveness of implemented strategies, track progress against ambitions and execution and identify areas for strategic improvement
Lead specific special initiatives pertinent to delivering our strategy with facilitation of executive discussions on a strategic topic
Identify strategic issues & opportunities that could influence technology's objectives
Stakeholder Management - interact with a diverse group of key decision-makers and senior stakeholders. Establish collaborative and trusting relationships with the business’s key internal leaders and stakeholders in order to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas and information across the business
Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners and act as a liaison between IT and other functions
Conduct periodic tech reviews with regional and global leadership team
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of IT experience in the insurance industry
Previous experience in a strategic planning role in the Insurance industry is preferred, specifically in a regional role
Good knowledge and understanding of technology and business trends.
Strong presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
Good project and time management skills to see through implementation of projects and plans
Excellent communication, presentation, and sr. stakeholder management skills
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in English and Chinese language (in both spoken and written)
