Paycor’s Director, Strategy will lead a team of strategy analysts responsible for researching, trend identification and data analysis that will support the development of transformative growth strategies such as new adjacencies or segments trends. The Director, Strategy will lead concept design, and proposal development based on the analysis findings. This role will report directly to the SVP, Strategy and will work collectively with Paycor leadership and key cross-functional leaders to research, build recommendations for and evolve the long-term strategy. This role provides an exciting opportunity for visibility, influence, and leadership across the organization. Duties and Cor Responsibilities Responsible for developing, communicating, and implementing the strategic plan of an organization alongside key stakeholders across the Paycor organization. Responsible for creation and execution of the strategic planning process, bringing key stakeholders along to ensure buy-in and alignment. Consistently monitors implementation of the strategic plan and provides regular updates and insights on progress made. Develop and implement corporate strategies to drive growth and achieve financial objectives. Lead the formulation and execution of high-impact strategic initiatives. Create and manage “live” strategic plans as part of a continuous planning process. Support SVP, Strategy in the development of long-term vision around the future evolution of our existing markets and competitive landscape, identify and interpret unmet needs in current and adjacent markets, synthesize critical trends that will impact our business, and identify risks and disruptive moves in the industry. Lead voice of customer and partner analysis to identify trends/opportunities for impact. Analyze key competitive trends to identify new revenue and share growth opportunities. Develops robust strategic recommendations based on data analysis, competitive analysis, market research and is able to articulate the strategy in a concise, well-written form. Facilitate business problem solving through structured hypotheses, detailed analyses, and synthesized insights leading to recommendations to senior management. Identify, scope, and manage strategic projects end-to-end; including responsibility for deliverables and timelines, shifting priorities as needed. Partner with the executive leadership and functional leaders to gain consensus on strategic priorities and translate them into roadmaps that inform investment and resource allocations. Work collaboratively with executive leadership to manage and evolve strategy on an ongoing basis, conducting internal and external assessments, developing strategic questions or challenges and new growth hypothesis. Engage externally with customers and/or industry advisors to identify actional partnerships, alliances and acquisition opportunities. Collaborate with business leaders to evaluate options to achieve strategic initiatives (build/buy/partner) Manage a team of direct reports. Develop economic models to evaluate acquisitions, new business models, or in support of understanding the size, growth, and evolution of markets in which we do business, doing so with imperfect data.
Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Bachelor’s degree required. Broad and extensive experience in roles within a Strategy / Corp Dev function or management consulting leading growth strategy projects such as new market entry, new business alliances, new channel strategy, etc. Experience in B2B SaaS and/or Technology sector required. HCM industry experience would be advantageous, but not required. Strategic thinking, analytical skills, and ability to draw appropriate conclusions from multiple data sources and inputs; able to link long-term strategy with short-term execution plans to drive change. Balance of creativity with strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Heightened commercial awareness with ability to design and champion innovative business models and pricing strategies to drive business value. Comprehensive understanding of the industry, including identifying emerging trends for growth transformation. Ability to collaborate and work across a large, diverse, and matrixed organization with tact and persuasiveness. Exceptional influencing, negotiating, and partnering skills at all levels, including executive leadership. Bias towards action and self-motivated to build relationships and to drive work at pace and to conclusion.
