Wright State University Student Union (to include Event Services) and the office of Campus Recreation, including the administration of all phases of operations, programs, services, fiscal management and building maintenance. Implicit in this role is the responsibility for initiating, developing, and maintaining active relationships with members of the university and the Dayton community while leading innovative programs that meet student needs. Key responsibilities include evaluating program effectiveness, managing the budget, supervising staff, and ensuring safety through comprehensive risk management. Minimum Qualifications Master’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years OR Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible administrative experience in student union and campus recreation operations and related programs required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in fiscal management, planning, and personnel management, and university community outreach. Ability to manage multiple assignments and projects successfully in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Preferred Qualifications Essential Functions and percent of time: Administrative Leadership (45%) Initiate and lead the planning and development of the Student Union and Campus Recreation programs and services consistent with the mission of the Division of Student Affairs. Create and implement innovative programs that respond to emerging student needs and trends in campus recreation and student engagement. Develop strategies to maintain and increase student engagement. Serve as the primary spokesperson for the Student Union and Campus Recreation, representing programs and services to the university community and the community at large. Systematically evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services, using data-driven decision-making to enhance offerings based on student feedback. Collaborate with campus departments, student organizations, and community partners to identify opportunities for collaboration and synergy in programming and event planning to maximize resources and experience. Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive risk management plan that ensures programs, facilities, and equipment meet appropriate standards to reduce risk and ensure the safety of patrons and staff.
Fiscal (30%) Ensure the fiscal integrity of all Student Union, and Campus Recreation operations, programs, and budgets totaling approximately $2.75 million in accordance with funding allocations and other university policy. Develop long-term plans for facilities and services provided by the Student Union and Campus Recreation, including projected revenue-generating strategies, renewal and replacement initiatives, and activities that support building operations and student development efforts (i.e. the Student Union Scholarship Fund). Essential Functions and percent of time (cont'd): Supervision (20%) Supervise the Student Union and Campus Recreation staff including full-time employees, graduate assistants, and student employees responsible for building operations, student programs and organizations, and recreation services; involve staff in goal setting, performance reviews, and professional development. Promote ongoing professional growth and training to enhance team skills and collaboration.
Non-Essential Functions and percent of time: Other Duties as Assigned (5%) Working Conditions General business hours. Some evenings and weekends required.
