For this role, we are looking for a dynamic, organized, self-starting Systems Development Director to lead our operations/engineering organization for new AWS region builds.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with AWS infrastructure and product teams to design, deliver, operate and automate utility computing services for new AWS regions. You will assess risks, anticipate issues, overcome technical obstacles, make high-judgement trade-offs, and balance business needs with technical constraints.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need a deep understanding of distributed system design, delivery, operations and automation. Your development management expertise and operational excellence will influence your team’s decisions and drive secure and scalable solutions. Key job responsibilities
The role is the single threaded leader for Systems Development and Operations in the AWS UK region build team. The role works to set and execute the strategic vision for operations teams in collaboration with product, sales, security and service teams. The role requires a detailed understanding and ability to drive critical aspects of operations. The leader in this role should be customer obsessed, with ability to balance long-term vision with near-term customer needs. The role will lead strategic initiatives and provide support to operations and development teams in the UK.
