About this role:

Gartner is seeking for a dynamic Director, Team Manager to join our Branded Research Centre of Excellence (BR CoE) Operations and Project Management team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a proven track record in managing complex projects and implementing process improvements. This role is essential in transforming our branded research publication process, aiming to reduce the document preparation time significantly. The successful candidate will effectively engage with analysts, their TMs, drive change, and overcome challenges to ensure adherence to new processes. This role will manage and lead a team of Team Managers and individual contributors that manage production of Gartner’s Branded Research like Magic Quadrants and Critical Capabilities. The team also introduces process innovation and best practices for the research it supports and helps develop new research methods to drive scale and efficiency to accelerate growth.

What you’ll do:

Lead a team of Team Managers and individual contributors (Project Managers and Senior Project Managers) and oversee end to end management of multiple projects running simultaneously.Develop and implement strategies to reduce the document publication time significantly

e.g., from six months to four months. 

Drive innovation and process improvement initiatives to streamline operations and increase efficiency.Engage effectively with team members to gain buy-in for new processes and overcome resistance to change.Facilitate and lead difficult conversations with stakeholders to ensure alignment and commitment to process changes.Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery.Provide leadership, mentoring, and development opportunities to team members.Establish and maintain strong communication channels across all levels of the organization.Report on project status, challenges, and outcomes to senior management.Manage and optimize workflow tools such as Workfront to enhance project tracking and team collaboration.Recruit and onboard new staff. Support the team’s engagement with work and support their development and career progression. Define and communicate the team’s goals and objectives in alignment with the global Research & Advisory team and conduct performance reviews throughout the year.Balance the team’s workload and handle requests for operation support assistance on special projectsOptimize team capacity and responsibilities, address any roadblocks and coach the team associates.

Streamline operations to allow analysts and team members to focus on high-value tasks, increasing overall productivity and output quality. Reduce the publication timeline will enable quicker dissemination of research findings and insights to stakeholders and clients. Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, encouraging team members to challenge the status quo and embrace new methodologies and tools.Strengthen relationships with internal and external stakeholders by ensuring transparency, timely communication, and alignment on project goals and outcomes.Align process improvements with the organization's strategic objectives, supporting long-term growth and success.

Who you are:

MBA from leading B-schools (Certification in Project Management would be a plus).Experience or exposure with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies would be an advantage.BE/B.Tech or Graduation from Grade A college, in any specialization  ●          12+ years of experience in a professional environment. At least 3-5 yrs experience of Direct Reporting, coaching and mentoring teammates. Managing Team Managers would be a plus.Passionate about engaging and supporting development of team membersReal-life experience in driving to consensus, moving forward, and getting things done amongst large, global, and diverse groups of constituents.Superior understanding of project management techniquesHand-on experience of Project Management tools like Workfront, JIRA etc is preferred ●      Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to organize information logically.Proven competence for meeting deadlines, multi-tasking and managing work under ambiguity/uncertainty (e.g., changing factors, limited information)Ability to collaborate with multiple senior stakeholders, spread across geographies to drive projects.Experience in an extremely fast paced work environment preferably in research or consultingProven ability to solve problems and bring timely resolution to on-going issues.Ability to independently work on a variety of tasks, juggle multiple projects and problem solve hindrances and execute to completion.
