**_Role Overview:_** This is a great opportunity to lead the Technical Accounting and Reporting Function. The Director, Technical Accounting and Reporting oversees and manages the global technical accounting functions and ensures compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies. You’ll provide accurate financial reporting, support complex technical accounting issues, and ensure timely and accurate financial statements filings. Also, you’ll support other areas within Finance (month-end close, strategic initiatives, and lender reporting). You’ll play a key role in advising senior management on accounting matters, managing audits, and developing accounting policies and procedures that align with best practices and industry standards. You’re proficient in Financial Statement preparation, equity accounting, debt accounting and purchase accounting and be comfortable acting as the subject matter expert for new technical accounting guidance research and implementation. Your ability to collaborate with senior leadership and to effectively manage your teams will be key to your success. This is a Hybrid position located in Frisco, TX. You will be required to be onsite on an as-needed basis, typically 1 to 6 times a month. We are only considering candidates within a commutable distance to one of the two locations and are not offering relocation assistance at this time. **About the role:** + Lead the technical accounting and external reporting team, providing guidance and mentorship to team members + Oversee preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and other regulatory requirements + Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions + Ensure compliance with SEC reporting requirements, including preparation and filing of quarterly and annual reports + Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audits and reviews + Stay current on new accounting standards and regulations, assessing their impact on the organization and implementing necessary changes + Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance + Provide support for special projects and initiatives, including system implementations and process improvements + Communicate effectively with senior management, providing insights and recommendations on technical accounting matters **About You:** + At least 7 years (we’d love more!) of accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in technical accounting and external reporting and holding a leadership role + BA/BA/BBA degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred + CPA required (active license) + Experience in a public accounting firm + Experience in a multi-national company + Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and technical accounting standards + Experience with complex accounting issues and transactions, including mergers and acquisitions + Proficiency in Workiva + Experience in a publicly traded company preferred + Experience with Workday ERP systems and financial reporting tools is a plus + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret and apply accounting standards + Strong leadership and team management skills; successfully mentor and develop team members + Strong organizational skills.
