The Director of Technical Direction will bring deep domain expertise and technical knowledge, leading teams that reflect the same high standards. This role requires a clear understanding of the key differences in technical direction approaches across TAIT’s diverse markets, while unifying the team under a shared vision of excellence. The Director will define and communicate what technical direction represents at TAIT, both internally and externally, ensuring alignment with the company’s position as a leader in the live experience industry. The Director is responsible for establishing expectations and delivering technical direction at the highest level. This includes developing the vision, growth strategy, and staffing plan for the department. The role also requires ensuring that all projects are completed within agreed timeframes and budgets, supported by the creation, monitoring, and reporting of metrics and KPIs to measure and improve departmental effectiveness. The Director will lead, motivate, and inspire a global team of diverse and exceptional Technical Directors, fostering an inclusive culture of accountability, agility, and collaboration. **Essential Responsibilities & Accountabilities** + **Safety** Ensure all projects are delivered in a safe manner, prioritizing the safety of all participants during planning, execution, and throughout the lifecycle of the show or experience. + **Leadership** Lead both inspiring and challenging conversations with clients and team members. Demonstrate empathy and commercial awareness, tailoring leadership style to fit each situation. + **Revenue Growth** Transform Technical Direction into a revenue-enhancing capability by building strong client relationships and consistently delivering exceptional outcomes. + **EBITDA Margin Improvement** Contribute to meeting or exceeding annual group EBITDA targets. + **Reliability** Ensure technical solutions and integrations are reliable, fit for purpose, and meet market demands. + **Platform Development** Drive the development of a unified technology platform across hardware and software solutions for projects. + **Consistency** Create processes that provide clarity and predictability for other teams and departments interacting with Technical Direction. + **Alignment** Collaborate closely with Project Management and Producing teams to align processes and goals. + **Regulatory Compliance & Safety** Ensure TAIT sets the gold standard for compliance and safety through thoughtful design and execution. + **Metrics & KPIs** Develop, monitor, and report on metrics and KPIs to evaluate departmental performance and identify opportunities for improvement. **Management Responsibility** The Director of Technical Direction will oversee and manage the following roles: + Heads of Department (HODs), Technical Direction + Executive Technical Directors + Senior Technical Directors + Technical Directors **Competencies** + **Strategic Thinking/Visioning** Sees and communicates the big picture in an inspiring way.
