The Director of the Transformation Office will lead company-wide initiatives and change efforts that reshape how we work.  This role will be lead a team of Program Managers and Value Enablement Leads responsible for driving the design and execution of transformation initiatives that evolve how we operate across teams, regions, and business units.   You'll partner closely with senior leaders to align on priorities, deliver results, and ensure adoption of new ways of working across the organization.   Reporting to VP of eBay’s Planning, Program Management & Operational Excellence, this role offers a unique opportunity to build and define a new function from the start, creating the foundation for operational excellence within the organization.

What you will accomplish: 

Lead and scale the Transformation Office team, including Program Managers and Value Enablement Leads

Define and drive a portfolio of enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, from scoping to implementation and adoption

Build structured, outcome-driven transformation programs that deliver long-term impact

Oversee change management strategies that ensure teams successfully adopt new processes, tools, and capabilities

Collaborate with cross-functional partners (e.g., Product, Engineering, Design, HR, Finance, Markets) to integrate changes into the way we work

Establish measurement frameworks and report out progress, risks, and outcomes to executive partners

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the transformation team and across the broader org

Required travel 25% (1 week per month) to San Jose HQ and other global offices. 

What you will bring:

10+ years of experience leading program management, product management, or business transformation functions within large, global organizations.

8+ years of people leadership experience, ideally managing cross-functional teams.

Proven success leading complex, company-wide transformation and operating model changes in scaled, matrixed environments.

Demonstrated experience establishing and evolving program management practices and operations within large enterprises.

Data- and outcome-driven decision maker; skilled in using delivery metrics, KPIs, and financial targets to track progress and drive accountability.

Deep understanding of Agile and iterative product development lifecycles, and experience operationalizing them across multiple teams and product lines.

Expertise in organizational change management, with the ability to design flexible frameworks that align and empower teams.

Experience operating in large, matrixed organizations—with a proven ability to manage dependencies and align priorities across product, engineering, design, operations, legal, finance, and executive teams.

Success leading delivery across multi-layered organizations where influence, negotiation, and relationship-building are key to execution.

A history of building trust, resolving conflict, and guiding cross-functional teams through ambiguity toward aligned outcomes.

Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to distill complexity into clarity and deliver compelling narratives to senior leadership.

A leadership approach that balances urgency with empathy, and decisiveness with collaboration.

A global mindset and willingness to travel regularly to San Jose HQ and other offices to align stakeholders and drive decisions.

Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field required; advanced degree (MBA, MS) is a plus.

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$148,400 - $220,500

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
