Director, UVA Health Talent Acquisition

The University of Virginia’s Department of Human Resources is seeking applications for the Director of UVA Health Talent Acquisition position. Reporting to the Chief, UVA Health Human Resources, this role will lead a team of talent acquisition managers and specialists to ensure talent acquisition meets UVA Health workforce objectives.  The Director will oversee talent acquisition operations, resource allocation, and recruitment initiatives to attract top talent across the health system, ensuring an efficient and positive hiring experience.

As part of the University of Virginia, UVA Health is an academic health system with a system with a mission to transform health and inspire hope for all Virginians and beyond.  The UVA Medical Center serves as the flagship hospital located in Charlottesville, Virginia, with 696 beds, housing a Level 1 trauma center, the UVA Children's Hospital, the UVA Cancer Center, the Charles Strickler Transplant Center, and more than 100 primary and specialty care clinics throughout Virginia with over 1 million visits each year.  UVA Health plays a critical role in providing world-class healthcare. 

The successful candidate will be expected to:

Oversee and direct talent acquisitions strategies to attract top talent in alignment with UVA Health workforce objectives.Assess recruitment needs to effectively allocate resources to align talent acquisition efforts with workforce demands across the health system, including the University Medical Center, clinics and specialized care units.Lead and develop talent acquisition managers and specialists ensuring recruitment efforts are efficient, effective and consistent with organizational goalsEnsure the recruitment process adheres to all relevant employment laws and regulationsEnhance the candidate experience by ensuring streamlined processes, reducing barriers, and maintaining a smooth, positive recruitment journey Enhance the candidate experience by ensuring streamlined processes, reducing barriers and maintaining a smooth, positive recruitment journeyUse data-driven insights to monitor talent acquisition effectiveness through provision of talent acquisition metrics and reports

Qualifications: 

Education: Bachelor's Degree              Experience: 8 years of relevant experienceExperience in academic healthcare environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Recruitment Academy Certified Recruiter (RACR), or equivalentSociety for Human Resource Management SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP  certificationExperienced in human resource information systems (HRIS) and applicant tracking systems (ATS)

This position offers a hybrid schedule, requiring on-site presence at the UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA, at least three days per week.

The anticipated start date is April 14, 2025.  Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. This is an Exempt level, benefited position. For more information on benefits, visit UVA benefits.
