Director, Visual Design

The Director, Visual Design functions as the creative leader on the Corporate Communications team, responsible for leading vision, in-house creative team, brand design, and execution for enterprise (internal and external) initiatives.  The position collaboratively defines and brings to life the Inmar brand, and works closely with each Inmar division, as they operate under the overall brand umbrella to meet their unique business and industry needs. This role will be responsible for overseeing the design, layout and visual impact of all marketing & communications materials, leading a team, and coordinating with freelance resources as needed to complete projects. The ideal candidate must be an exceptional storyteller, experienced in driving creative projects from concept to completion, including design, videography, editing, graphics, photography, etc.

Responsibilities:

Leadership  (25%)

Manage and delegate responsibilities to other designers and creatives and provide support and direction.

Lead, inspire, and mentor a diverse creative team, including designers and videographers.

Build and develop a team of extraordinary creatives that stay ahead of trends, best practices, and continuously improve team processes and outputs.

Oversee departmental budgets, resource allocation, and external agency relationships as needed.

Push the boundaries visually and through exceptional storytelling - in both concept and design. 

Strategic (20%)

Understand marketing initiatives, strategic positioning, and target audience.

Play a role in evolving the brand strategy over time to remain relevant and deliver our message to key stakeholders.

Collaborate with divisions to understand their unique brand needs within the overall brand strategy and create a brand structure that drives consistency but allows for flexibility within the divisions.

Generate clear ideas and concepts based on brand briefs that align with client objectives while pushing the boundaries with fresh ideas.

Lead content strategy and development of originally produced video content across YouTube and content on our official website.


Influence (20%)

Partner with division marketing leads, creative partners, and project managers across different types of projects and creative needs.

Present strategy and your work effectively, articulately communicating design rationale to teams and stakeholders across the organization.

Present completed assets to internal teams including our executive leadership team.


Technical (35%)

Produce sketches, storyboards, and roughs to visualize ideas.

Take work from concept to final execution within deadlines.

Mastery of all aspects of creative - from concept to execution encompassing design, videography, editing, graphics, storytelling and photography.

Ability to build/design for website, social media, print, responsive web, presentation, graphics, social, native mobile, video (edit and motion graphics), photo, etc.

Perform additional responsibilities when required.

Required Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Design, Graphic Design or a related field.

15 years of experience developing and executing successful marketing / communications.

A minimum of 5 years of experience managing a team.

Proven experience in developing and executing successful marketing campaigns 

Strong background in optimizing websites for organic search performance through SEO techniques.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Strong project management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Manage workload effectively, and work independently or collaboratively within a team environment.

Proficiency in analytics tools such as Google Analytics for data analysis and reporting.

Expertise in Google Analytics 4: Proficient in GA4 implementation and analysis.

Deep understanding of trends and best practices for website, social media, events, internal communications.

Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions.

Exceptional communication and organizational skills.

Advanced to Expert in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects), Figma
