The Director of Wholesale Lending & Banking Book Data is a senior level position, responsible for managing end-to-end execution for the Wholesale Lending Data Transformation plan and regulatory commitments in compliance with Citi’s Data Management Policy. This role will collaborate closely with the senior business Data heads, product owners, and various technology teams to deliver on the strategic roadmap, which will streamline the data flow for wholesale lending with comprehensive controls for Finance & Risk data consumption. This role requires strong technical background, analytical skills, enterprise system delivery experience, strong communication and senior stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the Data Platform end-to-end strategic data solution and governance for Wholesale Lending product categories and the functional areas supporting the Lending Business.
Collaborate closely with business, operations and technology teams as well as partner with internal Platform and Data Services team, Data Stewards and the extended Enterprise Data Governance teams.
Lead the development and maintenance of strategic data integration solutions to deliver the strategic plan and to meet regulatory and critical business commitments.
Lead delivery of Data tracing, lineage and cataloging efforts for Wholesale Landing Data.
Deliver strategic front to back data control framework for wholesale data covered under Finance & Risk regulatory reports.
Collaborate with Loans Ops and Transformation teams to deliver Ops reports on target state reporting platform.
Lead and facilitate all aspects of the Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, Data Quality, Privacy and Reconciliation.
Deliver roadmap for Finance & Risk consumers to migrate from legacy credit risk platforms to new target state platform.
Deliver MRA, MRIA and Consent Order commitments related to Wholesale Lending Data.
Develop approach and prioritization framework to define and track the prioritized scope of regulatory obligations.
Develop a roadmap delivery timeline view of regulatory obligations, and their associated governance steps for impacted Data Leadership.
Develop materials to effectively and concisely articulate progress on the data governance.
Develop detailed IT work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.
Provide strategic direction to development teams for projects under oversight.
Ensure essential procedures are followed and contributes to defining standards.
Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of how IT project leadership integrates within the overall technology function to achieve objectives; requires a good understanding of the industry.
Make difficult decisions in the face of challenges and adversity, regardless of popular opinion, which results in diverse options and the best decision for Citi.
Provide vision and direction to the Business Analysis and Development teams within the Olympus team, as well as, across Services, Markets and Clients (SM&C) organization, Risk and Finance technology teams
Diagnose problems and cut through ambiguity across data, systems and organizations which include Front Office, Risk and Finance systems
Identify/communicate risks and impact, propose risk mitigation options, considering business implications of the application of technology; apply sound ethical judgment. demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets
Provide in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems, develop innovative solutions and influence strategic functional decisions
Direct management of Business analysts and programs managers
Supervise day-to-day staff management, including resource management, work allocation, mentoring/coaching and other duties and functions as assigned
Identify and introduce emerging technology trends to inform decision-making.
Foster a culture of innovation and Engineering Excellence across all projects
Provide support towards budget and forecasting exercise.
Champion diversity, inclusion & VoE metrics across the organization
Qualifications:
15+ years of experience in a complex, financial organization, with a particular focus in technology management, Data management and data governance
Significant experience in managing Wholesale Lending products for a Finance organization, including management of data sourcing, data provisioning, satisfaction of new requirements and resolution of data quality issues.
Understanding of Wholesale Lending and Credit Risk Data and their usage in various regulatory reports
Demonstrates consistent track record of having worked as a senior Delivery or Product Manager, or working on large, strategic cross-functional projects
Knowledge recent industry trends related to Data governance and Operating models
Strategic mindset, who can see ahead to future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies.
Strong technical solution and delivery skills identifying opportunities & championing ongoing best-in-class business transformation/ innovation for global enterprise projects
Communicates effectively, develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; able to drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levels
Understanding of the overall regulatory environment and previous experience working with regulators on data plan execution
Data services domain expertise: including data governance, data architecture, big data, data warehousing, and working with data lakes.
Proven leadership skills across all data disciplines (incl. strategy, governance, architecture, analytics, visualization, data science, coding).
Expertise in leading conversations with C-level stakeholders, auditors and regulators. Proven ability / acumen to translate data capabilities into business outcomes aligned to client and business outcomes.
Cloud expertise (AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)
Strong working knowledge of data management and big data platforms, which includes
Hadoop
Expertise in Big Data querying tools e.g. Hive and Impala
Relational SQL and NoSQL databases
Business Intelligence Tools
Experience with complex data analysis
Education:
Technical Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required
Technical Master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred
