Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to lead marketing and sales activities related to products, systems, and services within the defined industry segments, for the assigned area. Each day, you will ensure that the division and related sales units substantially improve their sales, margins, market share, and customer satisfaction in the selected market segments. You will also showcase your expertise by developing and implementing a market-based strategy including direct, third party, and project sales and enhancing cross-division and cross-region business-led collaborations for the specific market segment.The work model for the role is: hybridThis role is contributing to the Electrification business area in North America.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tCreating and implementing strategies for significant project pursuits in the US market.•\tLeading the process to define the industry group footprint that covers market presence, execution standards, and delivery model.•\tDefining key target projects and ensures they pursued by local sales, segment, application engineering, and business development teams.•\tEnsuring proper strategies and resources are in place to win targeted projects. Capture selling teams are a key approach in these pursuits.•\tEnsuring the team is well prepared and has the necessary internal support to pursue projects. •\tDevelops and continually monitors processes to ensure early and ongoing engagement with key decision-makers and stakeholders by the commercial teams pursuing strategic projects.•\tDevelops and communicates playbooks on strategic project pursuits. Ensures teams are properly trained to be successful.•\tActivates intelligence, benchmarking, and analysis to identify project and industry trends, product gaps, competitor strategy, etc.
Qualifications for the roleBachelor’s degree in engineering or another technical field. MBA or master’s in engineering preferred. Minimum 10 years of experience within the electrification industry. Experience in capture teams selling or solutions approaches. Able to lead and direct front end and back-end capture team members to drive winning outcomes. Demonstrated process and analytical experiences. Able to establish and communicate process improvements across large organizations.Experience working in a matrix environment with demonstrated influencing skills.Strong understanding of the electrification market, including technology trends, regulatory requirements, and competitive landscape.Influencing skills PLUS verbal, written and presentation skills to all levels in an organization, including senior leadership.Business/strategic thinker and relationship builder. Politically savvy – able to drive results when competing interests are present.Experience in conducting market analysis and business development plans with solid structured approach.Willingness to travel as needed, including multiple events.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
