What is the opportunity?

The Director of US IT Risk Mitigation and Remediation is responsible for leading risk management efforts specifically for RBC US Technology. You will be responsible for leading and managing risk remediation efforts, designing frameworks and methodologies for mitigating technology risks. This role works closely with IT Business Partners to identify mitigation and remediation plans for new and/or emerging risks while overseeing the execution of risk remediation programs in alignment to RBC US Risk Management Framework and regulatory expectations.

What will you do?

Develop and oversee RBC US Technology IT Risk Management Strategy in conjunction with Technology Risk Leaders.  Ensure alignment to Risk Management frameworkOversee and lead technology risk remediation programs and associated corrective actionsCollaborate proactively with US Tech Business Partners to develop and execute comprehensive risk remediation plans, ensuring adherence to US enterprise risk management frameworksDrive overall risk management appetite and posture across US Technology landscape Monitor and track IT risk remediation efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and deadlinesProvide ongoing updates and reporting to RBC US Technology senior/executive leaders on risk remediation efforts Develop mitigation strategies, in conjunction with Technology Business Partners on new and/or emerging technology risks

What do you need to succeed?

Must Haves

Minimum of 10 years in risk management with a strong focus on mitigation and remediationStrong understanding of US Regulatory environment including reporting requirements.  Prior or current financial services experience requiredStrong understanding of technology infrastructure, cyber security, service delivery and risk and change management processesStrong knowledge of IT Risk management frameworks and methodologies as well as tools and techniques for monitoring and reporting on IT risksDemonstrated expertise collaborating with IT Business partners to identify and develop mitigation and remediation plans for new and emerging risksKnowledge of relevant industry standards and frameworks such as risk matrices, threat modeling and vulnerability assessmentsExperience managing and prioritizing multiple risk remediation projects simultaneouslyAbility to establish strategic approach for long term sustainable solutionsAbility to influence a diverse group of stakeholders and demonstrate strong collaboration skills across the organizationStrong problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindsetBachelor’s degree in CompSci, Finance or related degree.  Master’s degree preferred

Nice-to-have

Certifications are a plus (e.g., CRISC, CISA, CISM,CAMS CISSP)

The expected salary range for this particular position is $175K - $240K + discretionary bonus, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
