In the Companion Diagnostics Business (CDx), our team partners very closely with leading pharmaceutical companies to develop, manufacture and commercialize highly regulated medical devices which are critical for physicians to help select therapies for their patients.

In this customer facing role, you will help bring innovative precision medicine therapeutics to the patients through enabling innovative Companion Diagnostics solutions. You will build strong alliances, identify solutions jointly with pharmaceutical partners and drive growth of Companion Diagnostics business at Agilent. Specifically, you will:
● Lead full development and commercial stage alliances with pharmaceutical organizations
– Primary point of contact and owner of relationships with assigned partner
– Proactively identify partner’s precision medicine needs, engage partner and establish new collaborations
– Ensure performance to agreement standards and constraints
● Enhance partner experience
– Manage alliance and governance to proactively anticipate and address partner needs
– Align partner and Agilent activities and expectations per contract and to customer service standards
– Coordinate CDx activities to address Rx expansion to additional indications and geographies
● Drive Business
– Drive Agilent as the partner of choice for new opportunities with new stakeholders
– Field customer inquiries, pitch CDx capabilities, prepare proposals and execute contracts for new business
– Represent and secure Agilent interests at partner and be the precision medicine expert for partner
– Contribute to establish Agilent as the premier CDx partner for biopharma industry
● Collaborate internally to deliver partnership objectives and drive agreements
– Collaborate with legal and BD contracting to execute agreements
– Collaborate with scoping teams to generate proposals
– Maintain strong relationships with Legal, IP, Finance, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, Sales & Marketing, Project Management at Agilent
● Maintain knowledge of Agilent offerings, CDx technologies & services and contribute to enhance CDx BD capabilities and operational performance
The Director Alliance Management will report to the Head of Pharma Partnering, Companion Diagnostics (CDx).
QualificationsMaster's degree in Business Administration (MBA) and/or a PhD/Master's degree in a Life Sciences discipline with equivalent experience working in a commercial or business development role for an IVD or Biopharma industry organization8+ years in 2 of the following and 2+ years negotiating contracts and :Working with companion diagnostics or drug development including companion diagnosticWorking in a business development role involving companion diagnostic products or servicesNegotiating contracts that include diagnostic products, services or licensing at biopharmaceutical organizationSkills and Personal Characteristics:Command of CDx technologies, development and commercializationUnderstands application of NGS, IHC, ISH, and other technologies in CDxCommand of CDx development and commercialization processesUnderstanding of drug development process, especially in conjunction with a companion diagnostic.Network and industry knowledgeNetworking with translational medicine leaders at biopharma organizationsNetworking with Precision Medicine community in diagnostics and biopharmaRelationships with clinical laboratories and technology companies in precision medicine spaceAnalysis and decision makingAnalytical, able to extract and compile voluminous technical, market and financial data and construct business case recommendationsAbility to effectively communicate complex concepts and resolve complex interconnected issues and agreementsInterpersonal and communication skillsAdept at effective communication (written and verbal) with biopharma organizationsPresence, professionalism and confidence in executive interactionsAbility to influence internal and external collaborators and stakeholdersProactive, able to work with minimal directionGoal oriented with the drive for self-directed accomplishmentsAdditional Details
This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
