Director Architecture
Job Description:

Position Description: 

 

Builds solutions that help drive asset growth and client retention through use of advanced analytics and an integrated sales and servicing CRM platform. Uses file transfer, shared databases, and Application Program Interfaces (APIs) to develop application or system integration. Designs, develops, and deploys applications on Amazon Web Services and Azure platforms. Uses SalesForce or comparable products that support Customer Relationship Management solutions. Maintains detailed documentation of the application architecture, design decisions, and any changes made during the development process using LeanIX tool, DrawIO, and Jira Confluence. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

 

Designs service-oriented architectures incorporating both functional and non-functional requirements.  

Performs architecture reviews and making decisions over technical designs, standards, and strategies related to cloud-based distribution systems.  

Translates and incorporates business vision and strategy to architectural strategy recommendations at the functional level.  

Provides guidance, training, and coaching to team members for performance and career development and identifying and planning for future resource needs.  

Designs, develops and modifies complex and major software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design. 

Develops and directs software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.  

Collaborates with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.  

Creates comprehensive application design documents. Incorporates security best practices into the application architecture.  

Identities and addresses potential vulnerabilities, ensuring data protection and compliance with security standards. 

 

Education and Experience: 

 

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Architecture (or closely related occupation) performing data warehousing and analytics in a financial services environment.  

 

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Architecture (or closely related occupation) performing data warehousing and analytics in a financial services environment. 

 

Skills and Knowledge:  

 

Candidate must also possess: 

 

Demonstrated Expertise (DE) implementing multi-tier SaaS and on-prem enterprise systems and building by using reusable custom business-critical thin and thick client applications and extensible software modules or ‘bolt-ons’ to extend or overcome the limitation of the implemented platform, and create new business applications using open-source technologies -- Angular, Typescript, HTML5, WPF, and C# -- according to various design patterns -- Dependency Injection/Inversion of Control, Model-view-view model (MVVM); and implementing of ERP the object design patterns viz. Factory Pattern, Singleton pattern, and Decorator Pattern.  

DE supporting enterprise applications (both COTS and custom built) through their lifecycles including integrations via Middleware and APIs -- analysis, design, development, test, and deployment -- in platforms -- MS Azure/Amazon Web Services (AWS), leveraging Application Lifecycle Management Tools (Azure DevOps, Bitbucket, and Artifactory), API Development Tools (Swagger/Postman), and Continuous Integration/Deployment Pipelines (ArgoCD, uDeploy, and Concourse).  

 

DE defining the direction for a product portfolio; and creating yearly delivery roadmaps to provide an execution plan for software development teams and a strategic guide for stakeholders.  

 

DE participating and implementing all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and delivering innovative software solutions according to Agile methodologies, security requirements, and soft-ware development best practices, using Git, Stash, Confluence, and JIRA. 

 

Salary: $173,500.00 - $183,500.00/year
