Director/Associate Director/Senior Analyst (Impact Forecasting)

Aon is looking for an Associate Director to join our Impact Forecasting team, hybrid in Chicago, IL! We are seeking a motivated and meticulous individual to join our Catastrophe Insight team in Chicago as a Catastrophe Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting data related to natural catastrophes, developing real-time event response solutions and providing insights to support risk management and decision-making processes. Catastrophe Insight is a part of Impact Forecasting, a major vendor of catastrophe models in the re/insurance industry. Role Responsibilities Work closely with the Catastrophe Insight team to monitor global natural disasters and contribute to our Catastrophe Report publications Aid in the development and deployment of real-time catastrophe model solutions using weather forecast data and catastrophe models Provide assistance to colleagues, brokers and clients with customized disaster-related analyses Conduct research to strengthen Aon’s historical natural disaster loss database Develop and conduct statistical analysis to determine natural disaster loss trends To Be Considered Qualified for This Role Degree in Meteorology or a related Earth Science field Understanding of global weather & climate trends with an emphasis on US and Americas and forecasting abilities applying numerical weather models and satellite data Analytical thinking with data analysis and programming skills Technical writing and editing skills & the ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal manner Prior exposure or familiarity with the re/insurance industry is an advantage Familiarity with Microsoft Office, QGIS, Adobe Suite, Tableau, etc. We support our colleagues! Pay Transparency Laws: The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $125,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted to reflect applicant’s geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
