Behavioral Health Director Position Summary
The Director of Behavioral Health at TidalHealth will oversee the operations of a 15-bed child and adolescent unit, a 13-bed adult unit, and the Emergency Department (ED) behavioral health team. This role requires a dynamic leader who can provide strategic direction and collaborate with the Director of Outpatient Operations and Medical Directors to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care. The Director will maintain up-to-date knowledge of current nursing practices, and ensure compliance with interfacility transfer guidelines as mandated by the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA). In this role, the Director will plan and organize division activities, oversee day-to-day operations through Clinical Managers, and maintain Joint Commission/EOC readiness. The Director will also drive division performance and patient care outcomes by developing and monitoring action plans, addressing legal and ethical issues, and ensuring patient concerns are resolved promptly. A key aspect of this role is fostering staff development and team building. The Director will work with Clinical Managers and supervisors as well as the Director of Outpatient Operations to assess staffing competencies, develop unit-specific skill requirements, and coach and mentor staff to enhance their professional growth. By promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment, the Director will ensure that the division operates cohesively and efficiently, ultimately improving patient care outcomes.Behavioral Health Director Position Requirements
Education:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and Master’s preferredLicense and/or certification:
Licensed and current registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland or Delaware, as applicableExperience:

At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
