We’re looking for qualified candidates like you to join our Texas Health family._ · Work location: Responsibilities over the west region; will have responsibilities at Azle, Fort Worth, Burleson, Willow Park, TH specialty, Clearfork, Southwest, Cleburne, Stephenville, Denton, Alliance, Southlake, and 10 UC clinics. + Core work hours: Monday-Friday 8:00a-5:00p The HTM Biomed Director is the primary liaison for biomedical technology issues, providing leadership in the selection, procurement, and management of biomedical equipment and services. This person ensures all aspects of biomedical technology management align with Joint Commission and other regulatory standards. In collaboration with the Sr. Director of HTM, the Services Director develops strategies, annual goals, and budgets to support growth and operational effectiveness. This position also oversees the biomedical technology function within the assigned zone, ensuring compliance, financial accountability, cybersecurity, and customer satisfaction. **Job Description** 1. Collaborate with the leadership team to develop, implement, and maintain consistent policies and procedures for the HTM Biomed Department. 2. Oversee strategic capital and non-capital expenses for biomedical equipment; prioritizing requests with the Sr. Director of HTM. 3. Establishes the operating and capital budget for biomedical equipment services with the Sr. Director of HTM and HTM Biomed and Imaging Directors. 4. Accountable for the performance of the budgets for biomedical equipment services within the assigned zone with the Sr. Director of HTM. 5. Establish goals for biomedical equipment support service delivery and offerings that align with the HTM Strategic Plan, ensuring operational efficiency and innovation. 6. Provide resources and expertise in reviewing maintenance capital submittals, equipment planning, and construction projects across all sites. 7. Accountable for the management of all biomedical equipment support services including vendor-supplied services. 8. Offer guidance on pre-purchase evaluations, vendor selection, cost of ownership assessments, and equipment acquisitions. 9. Lead the acceptance testing and inspection of biomedical equipment acquisitions, ensuring they meet organizational and regulatory standards. 10. Provide resources and expertise to actively participate in the medical device hazard and recall notification program, ensuring that biomedical equipment across the assigned zone complies with safety standards and that timely corrective actions are taken. 11. Ensure the biomedical program complies with all regulatory requirements, including the Joint Commission standards, CMS, and other applicable regulatory requirements. 12. Oversee the integration of biomedical equipment with the organization’s EMR and other medical systems. 13. Develop strategies to mitigate cybersecurity threats in biomedical equipment and networks ensuring data integrity and patient safety. 14. Administer biomedical equipment maintenance within the assigned zone, ensuring service quality and operational uptime. 15. Partner with key clinical stakeholders and participate in system committees to ensure the alignment of services with clinical needs. 16. Collaborate with the Sr. Director to identify opportunities to consolidate capital purchases across sites and fiscal years. 17. Negotiate system-wide service agreements in partnership with HTM leadership, Supply Chain Management (SCM) and with vendors. 18. Track and report key metrics established for HTM Biomedical services, including Preventative Maintenance (PM) performance, uptime, financial impact, productivity, and work volumes to the Sr. Director. 19. Assist the Sr. Director and other Directors when needed with their responsibilities. **Education** Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or, Bachelor's in Management required Master's Degree Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering or Healthcare Management preferred **Experience** 10 years experience in healthcare technology management including at least 7 years leadership experience in a hospital or healthcare setting or in support of healthcare service delivery required **Licenses and Certifications** Drivers License required upon hire Certified Healthcare Technology Manager preferred upon hire IT-ILC - IT Infrastructure Library Certification required within two years of hire **Skills** In-depth knowledge of Joint Commission and other applicable standards and regulations. Comprehensive knowledge of biomedical equipment and systems. Expertise in medical device technology, and equipment lifecycle management. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] and CMMS systems. Ability to plan, organize, and implement policies and procedures to manage biomed resources effectively and ensure compliance.
