Job Description

As a Director,  Business Development, you will help build our customer portfolio towards large payments & tech players as well as smaller startups. You will work closely with both existing accounts together with those account teams to introduce new and innovative solutions and identify new potential customers where you drive the end-to-end relationship. You will be a crucial member of the team and will help to design and execute the team’s sales and growth strategy. As an expert in open banking, you will challenge, guide and lead our client’s transformation in terms of user onboarding and account-to-account payments. You will take ownership of a pipeline and drive large deals to the finish line while meeting the financial plan, and continuously collaborate with account managers and the delivery team to ensure a smooth transition into implementation and account management.

Furthermore, you will work closely with our Product, Solutions, Strategy and Marketing teams as well as existing account teams to ensure successful sales. To be successful in this role you will need to be an expert in stakeholder management on different levels across the organization, in a global environment. In this role, you need to be a strong networker with the ability to be a trusted advisor to our customers. You will be a part of selling solutions to some of the largest financial institutions in the world to drive innovation for consumers to create the next generation of financial services.

Responsibilities

Become a domain expert in your area to build a network and become a trusted advisor to leading merchants and fintechsBuild a customer portfolio by driving sales activities in the USBuild strong relationships with key stakeholders at potential customersLead workshops and meetings with key customers to identify customer needs to match them with Visa offeringsPlan and drive the sales process from initial contact all the way to signatureBuild brand awareness, plan and lead marketing activities for the US and co-drive successful marketing projects together with the Marketing teamRepresent Visa at conferences and other public speaking events

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic  

10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8-10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA)

Preferred

10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 9+ years of relevant experience with an Advanced DegreeYou have a track record of top performance in sales, ideally in B2B SaaS and/or technical financial solutionsYou have experience from selling deeply integrated solutions that support the delivery of technologyExperience from managing contract negotiationsYou have strong business acumen, strategic thinker, and a customer-centric mindset. You are naturally curious and with a willingness to become and expert in your domainDemonstrated ability to collaborate with senior internal and external stakeholders with strong communication skillsPersonal attributes: entrepreneurial and gets things done, likes to find innovative, smart solutions to new problems, pragmatic and solution-oriented, strong collaboratorExisting network within US fintech, financial services industry, or open banking industryExperience or deep understanding of account-to-account payments

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 143,700 to 225,400 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
