Avera is currently seeking a highly motivated Director Case Management – Chaplaincy and Social Services

As a Director of Chaplaincy and Social Services, develop, implement, and evaluate Case Management Chaplaincy & Social Work programs and services in conjunction with other medical center personnel regarding the social, emotional and cultural aspects of illness. Positive and productive team environment.

Job Summary

Responsible for the planning and development for the Case Management, Chaplaincy & Social Services programs at Avera McKennan. He/She will have accountability and responsibility for the overall operation of these services. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to personnel management, financial planning, visionary direction and clinical supervision. Also responsible for overall operations of Walsh Family Village. 

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university is required. Three to five years of experience in social work or case management is required. Master's degree preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Licensed as a Social Worker in the State of South Dakota or as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of Multi-state licensure.     Professional certification is preferred. Membership in a professional organization is preferred.
