Aon Reinsurance is looking for an Director for our Growth Analytics Practice Position Summary As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Reinsurance Analytics team focused on growth solutions for insurance company clients. The qualified candidate will have a background at an insurance company with experience in underwriting, product management or actuarial for Commercial Lines of business. The position can be remote or based out of our Chicago office. This role is for an ambitious individual with a strong industry and analytical background who has expertise in Commercial Lines products, pricing, and underwriting. Candidates will work closely with brokers and consultants to develop and deliver bespoke tools and growth solutions for clients. You will become familiar with Aon’s tools and approach, meaningfully contribute to our client’s success, and support colleagues across the firm with your research, knowledge, and expertise. Role Responsibilities: Build relationships to act as a trusted advisor and Commercial Lines expert to key internal and external stakeholders Contribute to and lead the delivery of analytics and tools supporting client needs related to Commercial Lines growth Collaborate with colleagues (brokers, consultants, analytics) to identify and respond to opportunities while managing project results and product development milestones Research and analyze insurance company rate filings and product offerings to identify underwriting improvements Create profitability analyses across multiple products, segments, and geographies Understand catastrophe model output and its use in rate filings, pricing, and underwriting guidelines. Analyze client and/or industry expense information, non-cat loss information, and profit/capital requirements to build a total cost of risk. Understand reinsurance contracts and products (terminology, terms and conditions) Take initiative on internal projects to improve processes, products, or services Take ownership and responsibility for quality, accuracy, and timely completion of analyses and client-ready presentations Skills and experience that will lead to success: 5+ years of experience in an analytically-centric environment Experience at an insurance company in Commercial Lines underwriting, product management or actuarial Ability to work independently and in team environment Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) Ability to identify and resolve problems, think creatively, strategically and analytically Strong ability to understand and perform mathematical and statistical calculations Extensive knowledge of MS Office suite of products (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) PowerBI or Tableau abilities preferred Knowledge of traditional and novel data sources used by insurance companies is a plus R, SQL, Python, and/or VBA coding abilities are a plus We support our colleagues! Pay Transparency Laws: The salary range for this position is $132,900 to $150,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted to reflect applicant’s geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
