Ensuring we have the right compensation and benefits in place for employees and that they meet the dynamic and complex requirements for each market is imperative. Reporting to the VP, International Compensation and Benefits (C&B) this role is responsible for leading the C&B agenda for Canada and LAC regions including Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Chile. The role serves as part of the International C&B Leadership team, who is collectively responsible for leading C&B for all markets outside of the United States.  The role requires a strong focus on strategy, enterprise thinking, people leadership, collaboration with local and global stakeholders, and managing complex, dynamic C&B and incentive agendas that vary by market. **How will you make an impact in this role?** **Benefits** + Oversee the management, development, implementation, and communication of benefit plans in the Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Chile markets, including but not limited to flexible benefits, retirement plans, company cars and our wellbeing programs + Proactively ensure that benefits spend delivers maximum ROI to the business and drives colleague engagement, attraction, and retention + Continuously improve benefits offerings, pursuing a progressive and innovative agenda + Oversee the implementation of changes across multiple market programs to align with American Express’ enterprise strategy + Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Taxes and Payroll teamsto ensure our programs conform with local legislation and internal compliance requirements + Oversee benefit vendor management + Serves as a member of benefits committees as required (i.e. Pension Plan committees) **Compensation** + Act as a thought leader and advisor on compensation matters to country and regional business leaders, International Colleague Strategic Partners (ICSP) Colleague Strategic Partners (CSP) and Global Talent Acquisition (GTA) + Lead with an external perspective to proactively keep up to date with best-in-class market best practice and use this knowledge to shape the market/ regional agenda + Represent the region in global team forums and projects, providing a local perspective to influence global solutions that reflect local market needs + Guide the development and implementation of region-wide employee compensation, incentive and recognition programs + Continuously work to improve the regional compensation infrastructure and processes; provide communication and education to diverse audiences + Monitors Pay Equity and Transparency trends in the market to ensure alignment with local requirements and global frameworks **Minimum Qualifications** + 8-10 years of demonstrated experience in total rewards, benefits, compensation, and exposure to a broad range of compensation practices + Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Human Resources or related fieldMBA or equivalent degree preferred + Familiarity with the standard concepts, practices, and procedures within compensation, benefits, and total rewards **Preferred Qualifications** + Strong technical skills in both compensation and benefits delivery + Strong understanding of the key drivers of compensation and benefit plan program changes in current market environment, particularly in LAC and Canada markets + Proven use of Project Management principles and discipline + Ability to manage third party advisers and vendors + Strong problem solving and highly developed critical thinking skills + Demonstrated ability to impact and influence others at all levels in the organization using a fact-based rationale + Proven people leadership skills and ability to lead remote and diverse teams + Ability to work through the matrix and lead geographically spread project team + Make collaboration essential across CEG while driving the CTRW agenda forward + Ability to build and maintain effective relationships within CTRW, CEG, key business leaders and external partners **Qualifications** We back our colleagues and their loved ones with benefits and programs that support their holistic well-being.
