Director Corporate Planning

Job Summary

The Director of Corporate Planning plays a crucial role in shaping the destiny and ensuring the success of DENSO in North America (NA) region (Revenue: $12 billion across 23 companies).  While reporting to the Corporate Finance Group Head/Vice President, this position works closely with top leaders of each business unit and function to DENSO’s strategic direction within the North America region.  This position also facilitates the creation of short-term and mid-term plans for achievement, including the monthly, semi-annual, and annual follow-up cadence.  

Responsibilities

Lead high-level planning activities including mid- and long-term scenario planning. Develop and implement profit and resource plans in alignment with the NA regional vision and objectives. Support development of the region’s annual policy, profit plan, and resource plan. Conduct monthly reviews of P/L and fixed cost for the NA Region and the Regional Headquarters (DENSO International America Inc). Prepare and present reports and recommendations for strengthening DENSO’s business performance in NA.  Work collaboratively with various teams to drive strategic initiatives and achieve organizational objectives. Regularly interacts with and advises senior leaders and the regional board of directors. Inspire and enlist others towards a shared vision, continuously challenge the status quo for improvement. Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential disruptions.  Set departmental goals and monitor progress towards their achievement. Continue to realize process excellence and standardization of work in the Corporate Planning Department (CPD). Oversee CPD team members and provide guidance to ensure effective execution of plans. Contribute to continual advancement of working methods including digitalization and standardization within financial functions. Identify opportunities for growth, improvement, and innovation within the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in finance, accounting, or business.  MBA is a plus.  Engineers with an MBA will also be considered.  Ten or more years of experience, including at least 5 years in management, in corporate planning, strategy, finance, or related roles in automotive or a similar industry. Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams. Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships across all levels of the organization. Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical abilities. Proven track record of driving successful strategic initiatives. Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software. Be proactive and able to work autonomously to identify and solve financial challenges.

Success Metrics

Achievement of departmental goals and objectives within specified timelines. Effective execution of strategic plans and initiatives across the region. Positive impact on the company's growth and profitability & achievement of annual profit plan within NA. Timely and accurate reporting to senior management and the board of directors.

Salary $200,000-$240,000.
