NURSING SUMMARY/ PURPOSE OF POSITION

The CVOR Clinical Unit Director is a professional whose primary responsibility is to provide supervision and leadership to a specified clinical unit(s).

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree required and Master’s degree preferred; Current, valid unencumbered license. Advanced educational and experiential qualifications with consideration of the following: Minimum of 3-5 years clinical experience; Understanding of the organization’s scope and complexity and the position’s responsibility; Knowledge of the scope and complexity of the patient care needs of the major populations served, as well as the culturally diverse and special needs of the population; Certification – required for those meeting certifying agency eligibility requirements preferred. Maintain membership in a professional organization required.

Participates in strategic planning; Facilitates participation of staff in organizational and unit-based decision-making councils and/or committees; and Maintains continual regulatory readiness. Participates in and coaches staff through Continuous Quality Improvement Projects. Personal Support of and willingness to coach colleagues through change in a positive manner.

Demonstrates effective communication and interacts appropriately and professionally with patients, visitors, colleagues, physicians, students, and all others. Ability and willingness to resolve and mediate conflicts. Must be organized, able to effectively prioritize tasks and resources while exhibiting appropriate time management skills. Must be detail oriented while focusing on safe practices and quality care. Demonstrates effective leadership and coaching of colleagues to positively effect patient outcomes. Adaptability to changing work environments or needs. Proficient computer skills to complete tasks as required.

 

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

8 hour on-site work day 24/7 responsibility for unit/department(s). On call rotation required. Flexes time to interact with colleagues on off hours/shifts. Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day.

Entity/Department/Position Specific Addendum

 

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) and Hybrid Operating Room (Hybrid OR) reside within the Aultman Deuble Heart & Vascular Hospital. All cardiac, thoracic, structural heart, vascular open and percutaneous cases are performed within this department. There are four (4) CVOR rooms and one Hybrid OR room, located on the 2nd floor of the Bedford Building. This dynamic department is a 24/7/365 department. Surgical/procedural cases are scheduled during daytime hours, but the department and staff are available for emergencies 24/7/365. This role will lead a highly skilled team and collaborate with colleagues across the Aultman Health System.
