The Director Strategic Facility Planning and Design will lead the development and management of the corporate design standards for Novant Health, including the management of prototypical standards for new and renovated facilities. Develop and maintain manual of Novant design guidelines and specifications standards. Coordinate and oversee the design professional selection process for capital projects of all sizes. Develop and implement medical equipment planning processes and solutions. Provide direction to, and liaison with, executive architects and other consultants working on Novant capital projects. Review plans, specifications, projects and facilities for compliance with applicable codes and Novant standards. Active member of project team in programming and building committee deliberations as needed. Project responsibilities include analysis and evaluation of alternatives, review of costs of site and building development, and review of project plans and specifications for compliance with regulatory requirements and Novant standards for performance, quality, maintainability and cost efficiency. Interact with federal, state and local agencies.
This position will play a vital role in understanding, forecasting, and developing a broad range of plans that meet the needs as outlined in the Strategic Planning Framework. Strategic growth opportunities include coordinating with executive market leaders, strategic team and real estate on where Novant Health’s next hospital campus will be along with strategic planning of surrounding clinic locations. Responsible for land use and performing due diligence to determining required amount of land needed by coordinating the market need and planning the potential land. Coordinate all rezoning requirements with local jurisdictions.
Lead all facility master planning efforts. Coordinate data collection with strategic planning and develop deliverable needs that align with market growth needs.
The Director, Strategic Facility Planning and Design will supervise and manage project teams to develop Novant Health strategic plans across entities and geographies. This may include multiple services lines or stakeholders from entities across Novant Health.
Work in collaboration with Vice President, Strategic Planning and Business Development to lead and facilitate strategic facility planning processes. Develop and lead processes and timelines for appropriate refreshes of the plan to enhance the competitive position of Novant Health and ensure timeliness of responses to changes in market and industry dynamics. Lead a team of professionals in developing written. Maintain close working relationships at all levels of the organization to ensure the quality of planning deliverables and to synchronize the clinical services development plans with operational and financial planning. • Work closely with the Certificate of Need function in incorporating regulatory issues into strategic and business plans. Prepare and organize supplemental information for the CON application. Remain current on CON and other regulatory issues that affect the organization and assist in reporting implications to leadership. Oversee structured analysis and business planning for new program development and new business opportunities.

Qualifications
+ Education: 4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Architecture, Engineering or related field, required. Graduate Degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, or Architecture, preferred.
+ Experience: Minimum seven (7) years in hospital operations or in health care design, required. Minimum six years progressive management experience, required.
+ Additional Skills/Requirements Required:
