Apply Today! **Job Summary and Qualifications** HCA Healthcare is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Director to support the Vice President of Expanse Clinical Content in driving the development and implementation of clinical content within Expanse, HCA Healthcare’s electronic health record (EHR) platform. This role will contribute to HCA’s digital transformation, focusing on the creation, implementation, and optimization of clinical content such as order sets, documentation templates, clinician tools to visual data, clinical decision support, and product roadmap development. The Director will be chiefly responsible for creating and ensuring execution of the tactical plans for collaboratively developing the requirements for clinical content and functions in Expanse and driving the prioritization process of such enhancements, aligning with the evolving roadmap for the Expanse platform. This work will involve extensive collaboration with clinicians, informaticists, technology experts, and leaders across the enterprise to ensure Expanse clinical content enhances clinical workflow, improves patient outcomes, and supports HCA Healthcare’s strategic objectives. The Director will oversee a team of clinical informaticists who will perform key aspects of the work and ensure that these informaticists follow a disciplined process of problem identification, understanding of current clinical workflow, evaluation of tools available to solve the problem, and recommending a solution path. This position requires a strong leader with expertise in clinical informatics, project management, and stakeholder engagement within a large healthcare system. **Major Responsibilities:** + **Clinical Content Development and Implementation** : Support the VP in the development, implementation, and optimization of clinical content for Expanse, including order sets, documentation templates, clinical decision support tools, and other related functionalities. + **Workflow Optimization** : Contribute to driving additional value from the Expanse EHR through optimizing clinical workflows to enhance efficiency, quality of care, and patient safety. + **Stakeholder Management** : Establish and maintain strong relationships and effective communication channels with key stakeholders, including physicians, nurses, other clinicians, informaticists, IT staff, and hospital leadership, to ensure Expanse clinical content meets the needs of end users and other key stakeholders. + **Implementation Strategy** : Collaborate with Expanse program colleagues to develop and execute effective implementation strategies for Expanse content, maximizing success and minimizing operational disruption. + **Evidence-Based Practice and Informatics** : Integrate evidence-based practice, clinical informatics science, and human factors principles into Expanse clinical content design and development. + **Collaboration and Standardization** : Ensure collaborative development of clinical content between Clinical Informatics, Expanse, and ITG teams, and key stakeholders to support standardization initiatives and Clinical Informatics principles. + **Order Set Management** : Support the development and maintenance of a standardized, evidence-based order set library within Expanse, meeting clinical needs and improving clinical outcomes. + **Expanse Roadmap Development** : Support the VP of Expanse Clinical Content in drafting, revising, and upkeeping an Expanse Platform Roadmap that will guide development and optimization activities. + **Vendor Collaboration** : Participate in vendor EHR innovation programs, as needed. + Feedback Integration: Partner with CT&I, CSG, and ITG teams to obtain and review feedback from facilities using Expanse and incorporate it into the Expanse product roadmap. + **Communication** : Maintain an active communication strategy with key stakeholder groups, providing regular updates and soliciting feedback on team activities. + **Team Management** : Manage colleagues on the Expanse clinical content team and allocated project resources, ensuring projects are completed within budget and on schedule. + **Collaborative Working Relationships** : Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with Corporate departments, Division and facility leaders, Clinical Informatics and Expanse teams to ensure inclusion of appropriate talents to accomplish work. + **Provide Expertise and Consultation** to facilities, Divisions, and Corporate departments. **Requirements:** + Bachelor’s degree required + Master’s degree in applicable field preferred (e.g., MBA, MHA, Masters in Clinical Informatics) + 7+ years’ experience in healthcare leadership required + Clinical licensure/certification preferred (e.g., RN, PharmD, PA, NPRPh) + Ability to travel up to 25% required + Residence in Nashville, TN required "The great hospitals will always put the patient and the patient's family first, and the really great institutions will provide care with warmth, compassion, and dignity for the individual."- Dr. Thomas Frist, Sr. HCA Healthcare Co-Founder If you are looking for an opportunity that provides satisfaction and personal growth, we encourage you to apply for our Director Expanse Clinical Content opening.
