As a Director – Finance, you will implement accounting, credit and collection, and other financial policies for a district, provide financial advice, and recommend solutions to improve profitability and asset management to the District Vice President.
In this role you will:
Direct compliance with the Company's credit and collection policy, and ensure attainment of annual days sales outstanding and customer bad debt expense budgetsDevelop relationships with strategic customers to assist with the attainment of sales and gross margin targetsDirect the preparation of the assigned district's annual budget, monthly reports on collection, and monthly projectionsDirect the implementation of the Company's accounting operations in the assigned district, and provide a formal quarterly and annual certification of the resultsHire, train, and supervise the accounting and financial staffManage all internal and external audit inquiries, and ensure complete and timely reportsManage the Company's leased automobile programAdvise and provide analytical support to aid the District Vice President and branch management with strategic business decisionsManage supplier relationships at the district level; negotiate contracts, resolve disputes, and evaluate financial information to mitigate potential riskWhat you bring to the table:
10+ years of experience required: Progressive experience In Accounting, Finance, and Wholesale Credit and CollectionsFour-year degree required: Concentration or major in Finance, Accounting, or Economics11+ years of experience preferred: Increasing responsibility in field financial and accounting operations or equivalentMasters of Business Administration from an accredited institution preferredKnowledge of software related to accounting and financial operationsKnowledge of quantitative accounting and finance methodsKnowledge of financial controls (i.e., division of responsibilities)Statistical analysis skillsFinancial analysis and interpretive skills to evaluate internal and external financial statementsOral and written communication skillsAbility to provide leadership to attain departmental and individual level goalsAbility to effectively train and instruct in group settings and one on oneAbility to work with all levels of employees and management, both internally and externallyAbility to mediate customer and supplier conflictsFrequent travel requiredWhy should you join Graybar?
